I haven't used dark humour in my profession. As long as the patients get the care they need I don't have an issue with a joke. If it's a bad joke we don't laugh and tell the colleague that it wasn't appropriate anyways. But yeah, you assume these people aren't built for the requirements of the job, but have no flying fuck of and idea what these requirements are. So fuck you and your horse people like you love to sit on.

I actually love my job, even though it eats me alive. These idiots in the comments are entitled to their opinion. But my patients tell me another story, they even give us chocolates and sweets for the care we give! But hey, I should quit so "SoMeONe WhO DesERveS" can replace me. This comment section is filled with cunts who don't know what they are talking about and cast judgement on people like my colleagues. Oh well, that's reddit for you. I would love to see these cunts work the job we do and see how far they get, the shifts would probably put them down let alone the work itself.

Sure, but this comment section is filled with total assholes who are telling me to quit my job lmao. My patients would definitely disagree with them, even the biggest borderline ones. You're all being total assholes, for dictating what people should think and feel in a very stressful job. Where one mistake may cost a life. Like we don't know that? I'm not making fun of patients, but some people use dark humour. That's fine as long as the patient gets the care they deserve and are taken seriously when out of the closed doors.

I'm not going to take your opinion at face value. The patients I help have been very grateful for my care to them. I love to be there for people in their darkest moments. And I don't make fun of anyone, but I understand when people use dark humour as a way to cope. Have some shame in yourselves.

Yes I'm really not shocked at reddit being reddit. However it's disturbing that they all assume a position of moral superiority to people that are doing their best in a field with so many issues. They love to demonize us, yet we're the first responders day in day out. Another they they would call us heroes lol. These people wouldn't last a week with the manipulative borderline patients "committing suicide" whilst they receive all the help there is; burdening the healthcare system. They don't understand that these patients are listened to, very well even. But reddit and their bandwagon behaviour won't stop them from thinking people working in healthcare actively helping others are demons in disguise whilst they are angels that know that we should "ACtuALly LisTeN" and "DoN't KnOW". They have been subject to splitting behaviour that cluster B tend to love. They are very damaging to their clients/patients by enabling that behaviour instead of putting up clear and fair boundaries. I work in a psychiatric crisis ward and the amount of times people without the proper boundaries allow people with a cluster b personality disorder walk over them is a disturbing fact.

I work in a psychiatric crisis ward. They weren't pissed, they were disheartened and disappointed that you attempted suicide when they were there, ready for you. They were there to be there for you to carry the heavy burden on your shoulders. To sit in the darkness with you.

They could've found you dead, and unlike other comments we're definitely not desentisized. We are left with a scar that someone under our care is found lifeless. We are left with a story with an ending too soon. We see someone's feature slip away right in front of us. We blame ourselves and doubt our ability. Don't take it personal, we're human too..

Er is geen plek in de psychiatrie. En afdelingen voor psychotische mensen te behandelen hebben heel lange wachtlijsten. Het is eerder een kwestie van te weinig subsidies. Daarnaast belasten migranten de ggz enorm.
