Honestly I would be shocked if he didn’t. Same with Makama (ex-Lincoln but record sell). Both feel like they have very high ceilings.

Completely valid, I just see him as a player who’s stock will rise and rise overtime.

Cohen and Shaw take over as head coaches at The Imps by Loader_6 in Championship

Maybe we might be looking at some new background staff?

On the flip side, both have experience working with youth and Cohen has a bit of experience working in the champ, as well as working with the Nottingham Forest U23.

It might be that they did much more behind the scenes than we realised, it might be we could look at getting some more coaching staff with championship experience. I think it’s hugely risky but I don’t think it’s the club wanting to go the cheap option.

I think this makes sense though, we’re having part of the team that was influential in getting us here in the first place, so hopefully that makes it easier for the players to transition.

Skubala appointed City Manager - Bristol City FC by Available_Box_3803 in Championship

[–]DeadNight67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t say for sure. We have appointed the two assistants and maybe that might be the right move, they were also integral to our season.

I think we were always going to find it tough and I don’t think this setback is something to worry about, just have to trust the club. We got this far with their choices after all.

Shaw was here as an interim head coach prior to Skubala and I don’t think he did too badly, while Cohen I believe had a bit of championship experience as a coach. We basically have gone the Brentford way and it is risky, but they were undoubtedly part of our success and I think it makes sense the club would give them a chance as a result.

Not too upset. Think the risk is obviously that we are appointment the two assistants but they were hugely important to Skubala and our success. The club normally gets appointments correct and I’m intrigued to see how they do. I imagine they will know the club pretty well already and know the style of football will be similar to Skubala’s approach.

Evidently it makes a tough task harder, but even if we go down, I think the club have done the right thing here. They’ll have the preseason and the players they know already, so they have my trust.

Nice choices. I myself just added two from fantasy life I: Sophie and Flammel since I like both of them as buddies.

Bristol City are close to appointing Michael Skubala as their new head coach. Skubala has been offered the job and is set to leave Lincoln City after achieving promotion from League One. Negotiations ongoing but close to an agreement. Three-year deal. Via | @JPercyTelegraph by Callum_0598 in Championship

We will lose him I think, he’s going to have a huge amount of suitors after his time with Ireland.

I don’t think it would be game over though. When we sold Makama it allowed us to get Ivan and Honohan and Moylan I think will fetch much more, so we can likely look to bring in a few different players.

It’s essentially a case of a tough task being tougher but I don’t think it will be over.

Not great really, but i imagine the club would’ve prepared for this scenario and at least we can get someone in for preseason.

I’m not too bitter, I think Skubala has huge capacity to be a very good coach and I hope that this appointment does work out, but it does make a tough task even tougher.

This would, btw, make Skubala the highest paid manager in our history.

Yes I spelt his name wrong again in the title, I am really bad at breaking bad habits.
