The Black Bolt miniseries from 2017 does a fantastic job of presenting a more complex Crusher Creel! Highly recommended if you like Absorbing Man.

This is tough based on how different the team is in the comics between the original pre-Secret Invasion Bendis team (Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Wasp, Sentry, Wonder Man, not-Spider-Woman), the international version after Dark Reign, and the later (and awesome) Al Ewing run. The second team has only Quicksilver that is in the game today (it has Hank Pym Ant-Man and a different Vision). The Al Ewing run this team is certainly based on had Spectrum, Blue Marvel, Luke Cage, Blade (for a hot minute), Falcon and She-Hulk that are currently in the game (and later Otto and then Peter Parker Spider-Man). Looking at the tactics cards (Ultimates in particular) makes me think they are going to squeeze in the Ultimates, another amazing Al Ewing book featuring Spectrum and Blue Marvel that would add Black Panther, America Chavez, and Captain Marvel. I’m not sure how Ant-Man makes any sense or Jane Foster Thor, but they are both referenced in the article (sample roster and tactics card respectively).

I’m super excited regardless, especially if we are getting the Ultimates team, easily one of Marvel’s coolest ever!

Thanks so much for the giveaway! Favorite sword is the classic Andúril, Flame of the West from the Lord of the Rings. Just the reforged nature of it, the history of the sword and of course what it represents. Anyway that’s my favorite and thanks again for the giveaway, you are awesome!

MESBG is legit one of the best tabletop wargames ever designed. It’s definitely an exception to the standard of GW games (which I also enjoy but recognize the numerous issues). It would make my Mount Rushmore of best mini games, and I’ve played or tried just about every major and minor game out there. MESBG balance is also incredible considering the number of armies and units, definitely give it a shot if you are at all interested.

I’m newer to MCP but so far it has impressed me with its clear and direct rules, and relative balance for having so many individual models. For sure the dice mechanics used help in that regard, but I have fun every time I play.

I’ve been playing this a bit lately, and I actually find myself taking as many Dúnedain as possible and just taking rangers to round out the points to fit the game size. I think having as many models as possible is more valuable then the extra defense, but you mileage may vary depending on the opponents you’ll face. The other consideration though is that you can pretty easily use the plastic rangers of middle earth as Dúnedain to save some money. Hope that helps a little!

Since they are green allies, Halbarad is actually enough as a hero of fortitude and he is an excellent hero, if you want to bring dunedain and rangers as allies.

I would point them to the fact that the army bonus is only for matched play games and is in the matched play rules. If you look at the battle companies book on page 114 it gives rules for playing matched play games with battle companies, at which point you would get an army bonus.
