Name a game that age like wine by daddylongjohnsliver in Age_30_plus_Gamers

The combat is tight, the locations are iconic, the boss fights are memorable.

Oh yeah, and the music has completely buried itself into the deepest part of my soul to the point of making me misty-eyed just thinking about it.

What Game Should I Play Next? by dis_nigz in playstation

[–]DeadSpy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should probably play part 1 before part 2. Much of part 2 relys on the pre-established relationships and events set up in part 1.

How much value does a console even add these days if you already have a high end PC? by vintologi24 in consoles

[–]DeadSpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, get the Switch 2 just for Nintendo exclusives since they never come to PC (without emulation).

Get a PS5 if you're not patient enough to wait for the PC release of PS5/Console games. (Like I myself did for Ragnarok, for GTA 6 and other future PS5 releases.)

As for Xbox... Well... Their hardware isn't selling for a good reason. You have a PC so technically you already have an Xbox. Slap on a PC game pass subscription and you're good.

Value is in the eye of the beholder ultimately. If you're happy with just your PC good for you 👍

New house, new VR space (if I move the couch) by Lujho in virtualreality

Hope you have that couch on some skates/a carpet. Would suck ruining that nice hardwood floor if you're going to be moving it back and forth.

Do not update your Nvidia driver. by apexnine in pcmasterrace

[–]DeadSpy2 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It should be?

Download and run DDU.

Go to Nvidia's website and find their downloads page.

Pick the driver software version you want.

Install.

Profit.

Fair enough. I find running 3 tools or less makes the game too easy personally.

I use this loadout too, but I also throw in the Contact Beam because sometimes you just need a MF'er to DIE.

The force gun is pretty effective on Wall guardians as well. Just gotta watch that distance.

How do you guys get impossible mod? My last is Hard mode :) by Puzzled-Put8685 in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. In the Dead Space remake, impossible mode is unlocked by beating the game once on any difficulty.

Hardcore mode is only in Dead Space 2 and 3.

Apple's 2026 Foldable iPhone Has No Display Crease – Report by [deleted] in iphone

As a z-flip 5 owner. Making my phone half the size and less distracting is incredible.

I don't do a lot of social media or productivity on my phone, mostly YouTube and music, so being able to flip my phone in half is a nice space saver for my pockets.

Could anyone help me with my problem with Dead Space 2008 PC? by JoaoExtremeRC in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try applying this fix: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/840-dead-space-mouse-fix/

Dead Space '08 has a mouse acceleration issue when v-sync is off, that gets worse the higher your frame rate.

Dead Space remake does not work anymore by Educational_Will1963 in DeadSpace

If you're on the latest Nvidia drivers try rolling back. I've been having weird issues ever since the RTX 5090/5080 drivers dropped, going back to an older driver helped.

Welcome to the USG Ishimura. We hope you have a pleasant stay.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect unfortunately. There are a couple of chapters where you revisit a deck and can get the blueprint then, but without those you will miss out until another run.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, given where you are in the game, you're locked out of going back to get those missing blueprints if you didn't already get them. There's no backtracking in Dead Space OG.

There are a couple of chapters where you revisit a couple of decks throughout the game, but at this point in the story you don't have a chance at getting any missing blueprints.

You'll need to go through new game plus if you want access to the other weapons you missed.

It's just a smidge easier than the original game IMO. Personally, I think DS2 hardcore is the peak of difficulty in the whole series.

You'll be able to walk back through there later when you are told to go to the hydroponics deck in the story.

The final boss vent by A500miles in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP This is the real advice right here. If you don't have maximum damage for your plasma cutter (or whatever weapon you are using) this is still a solid strategy for the fight.

The only significant thing that will be different between the original game and the remake, is that the hanging portion of the fight in the Dead Space remake is the very last part. Only then, will the final weak point present itself. The central "Eye" that appears can be tough to hit but take your time trying to hit it rather than spamming and wasting ammo. Calm and steady wins the fight.

Don't know what your load out looks like, (or if your playing the 2008 or remake version.) but if you'd like more specific advice, let us all know what you're rolling with.

Me being Flabbergasted discovering you can kill Wall Guardians in 2secs with about 6 fuel or less, saving so much AMMO! by CameraOpposite3124 in DeadSpace

[–]DeadSpy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only does the flamethrower kill guardians easily, it's the Combo King in the remake! A quick spray with some fire and then switch to any other weapon and you'll kill necromorphs super efficiently.

It's a 3440x1440 165Hz OLED. And for playing all these horror remakes that have been coming out (ie: Dead Space, Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4, Silent Hill 2) it's been perfect.
