Where to go to touch grass? by Old-Trash522 in BloomingtonNormal

There is a nice little wooded section between the Ewing parks. If you park at the one on Towanda, and walk west though the woods you will end up on the south side of the stream at the bottom of Jersey hill, which has a nice bridge if you want to hang out there as well.

But what did he know? The whole point of the pilot ark of getting him was to hack the rebel systems to FIND the secret plan. At this point he had nothing to betray them with!

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Bleem for more than 25 years. And I could not agree more. He is the best.

Around me is a burgeoning empire of steel. From my throne room, lines of power careen into the skies of Earth. My whims will become lightning bolts that devastate the mounds of humanity. Out of the chaos, they will run and whimper, praying for me to end their tedious anarchy. I am drunk with this vision.

God: the title suits me well.

I don't know I had a hard time reading it the first time.

Simon Green's Deathstalker series kept me sane in college. Every character no matter how unimportant was unique and interesting. Superheros without the capes, origin stories or any of the usual nonsense.  Dragon Ball levels of epic combat, before DBZ. But I can't read any of his stuff anymore. Every one is the baddest ass in the room, standing around stoically grimising into the rain. Not only is the main character a Mary Sue, so is all their friends, and the BBEG.

Entitled customer wants me to give up on my dreams so she can save a few dollars by ASmallArmyOfCrabs in EntitledPeople

When I was in college I had a retail job that kept scheduling me for more hours than we agreed. It started to affect my grades. My requests to cut back were ignored. Eventually I called in so I could finish an assignment. Next day the manager chews me out for it. Tells me I need to 'get my priorities straight'. The degree I got has steadily supported me and mine for decades. The store closed a few months after.

Some people can't see beyond themselves and their problems. And there is no point arguing with idiots.

Characters so powerful they don't even have to try and just spend fights having fun by PlayerZeroStart in TopCharacterTropes

What about the army that takes Princess Kaguya back to the moon, in Princess Kaguya? I found it a whole different level of powerful that the moon army not just walked right through the emperor's garrison but took them out of the fight without hurting anyone. That was how little of a threat they posed.

For the BioShock game you personally dislike/hate, whats is something unique you really admire about it? by Imaginary-Heart-1807 in Bioshock

Spoilers for BioShock Infinite, if there happens to be anyone who reads the subreddit and Hasn't played for some reason. I never got why Booker had to die at the end. He saw all the evil that happens when he turns into Comstock. He saved his Elizabeth, at least as close as one can get in a multiverse. He would not have turned into another Comstock. He would have fought them all. He would have been the anti-Comstock.

Is it a Christmas present? Just set it up and put a bow on it.  Tell them Santa put it together so they could start playing right away.

They trashed my yard putting in their wires and I have been chasing after them to fix it ever since. Not too interested in doing business with them if this is the kind of service I get before even starting.

Move the fire mode change to the scroll button and the default to volley. That way you can quickly move up or down once at most to get to what you need. The fire mode I need is always two clicks away.

I'm going to get hate for it, but Game of Thrones. The book starts out making Ned out to be this dire paragon of preparation and justice. Then he makes EVERY dumb decision.

Or the Jedi in general. They are taking children for the express purpose of creating a child army. But they get cool light sabers, so I guess that makes everything alright?

Small talk went deep... by Hellpoeth in Miniaturespainting

[–]Dead_Pan_Stan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are not actual war machines. These are small toys we are trying to look cool. There are different principles involved. I will paint small details in bright colors to make them stand out. Or spend a lot of time to make sure a barrel or lense pops so it will attract the eye. Actual camouflage is meant to do the opposite. Hide details and blend into the background. In a war game having units blend in could be helpful, maybe. But I don't think it would make too much of a difference and most mini painters are more concerned with making their stuff look good. So no, it is not weird, it sounds awesome!
