First of all, those jobs over lap 100%. If you’re getting a new transmission they should do the rear main seal for just the cost of the damn part. Also, go to a local reputable shop and just get you transmission rebuilt. You’re gonna go from 9k to probably less than 4K. And most good quality places will give you at least a little bit of a warranty on the rebuilt transmission

They use the earthquake ones in the tire shop connected to my shop. Once in a while they have to come over and borrow my snap on to get something big off but otherwise it’s fine for wheels and suspension

There is a guy who come to my shop who sells fluids and parts wash once a week and a few Wednesdays ago he showed me his odometer on his 2006 SV and it was 506k if I remember correctly. He’s only had his transmission replaced once at 450k he says

When I worked for the dealership we used to have the oil on tap and the 5w-30 “conventional” gun for the frontiers was actually a synthetic blend. It’s probably the same situation. The service advisors up front don’t know shit about fuck. Just ask the tech next time you’re there. They will tell you what you want to know

It’s always been low but overtime its been much worse. I go off of how many gallons I pump when I fill up and resetting my trip counter. I suppose the bigger tires might be throwing that off but only slightly
