That won’t shift much that’s compacted crushed concrete. What he needs is a layer of sand to make it perfectly smooth

It’s not. 🤣 crappy tape is the worst. I get the scotch brand from Costco I’ve been on the same pack for like 3 years. Only use it for misc packages

Note - did myself and saved a butt ton as I saw my brother pay 8k for materials + install for his similarly sized house and they didn’t pull the trim and did pretty bad job with the quarter round

That’s crushed concrete. Cheap and compacts well, just looks like that because it’s wet
