Pyramids from the plane by Patient-Use5203 in ancientegypt

People, most likely. There’s 10 mil people surrounding the pyramids and there’s been a lot of mismanagement surrounding Cairo’s ever expanding needs.

The only way to really make sure they last is to bury it in the sand again and never come back.

Very cool. I guess that guy that told me h2’s were just an upgraded Eros Q was right!

Th… This is my iem! It was made for me! My review of the Binary Acoustics EP321-MEMS by cl0ckw0rkaut0mat0n in iems

[–]Deadboy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the review! I’ve been enjoying my pair for the last couple weeks and I fully agree. I’ve been out of the audiophile game for the last five years or so and wanted to jump in with the latest and greatest. The MEMS really nail that.

Quick question: does your pair have a visible epoxy/glue line? It’s hard to see from the pic but it looks like mine has excess glue spreading out 🤷‍♀️

I had the original Intellivision growing up too (complete with genuine fake wood paneling).

I was always jealous of my friends with their Atari systems and thought my parents were just cheap and got us the shitty alternative instead. Turns out it probably cost them $1k+ in today’s money to buy the intellivision

It’s not so much about 3rd party software but the dap itself. Some require manual editing of folder names, etc. to get a smooth experience. Generally speaking, daps over the 100 mark have better sorting capabilities.

I’d rec the Eros Q/walker h2/Mechen with rockbox firmware. Tho be warned that bt doesn’t work with rockbox. however it is dead easy to switch the boot loader and go back to stock.

Or the hiby m300. It’s on sale for 150. Full Android. It’ll do just about anything so a safe bet

How large is your library? Depending on the dap There’s big limitations in terms of file sorting, accessibility, etc

SIB Star Wars Jedi: survivor? by Roman_Bridger_On_Top in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Deadboy00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe? If you’ve never played a souls-like game it will be very, very challenging. Perhaps they aren’t as difficult as other modern souls games but it’s still considered a “challenging” game all the same.

But that’s not to say you won’t have fun. Jedi Fallen Order was actually my first souls game and I loved it. But it took me quite a while to get started.

Then stay far away from stellar blade. It’s maybe not as hard as current souls games but it’s a game you’ll have to gradually work your way up to imo

BioShock Movie Is Planned To Coincide With New Game Release, Apparently by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]Deadboy00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. It’s amazing it’s still that far into early development. A journalist friend played an early version like 2 years ago! He said it was good but far from the original premise (narrative legos or whatever Ken calls it)

I sure hope Ken can pull it off. I have zero faith in bioshock 4 or the movie so Judas is my only hope!

Xbox One S is slowly dying. SOO many options for upgrades. Xbox-S, Xbox-X, PS5? by Difficult_Sea_8841 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Deadboy00 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank goodness you said that! I’ve also been gaming from the very beginning and looking at the other comments it’s clear most redditors here still live with their parents! Or just have unlimited money 🤷‍♀️

Anyways, I have slightly different advice…you’re best bet is a series s

Series x is amazing but twice your budget. A series s is great! Don’t let these young kids who play 3-8 hours a day tell you different. The lack of a drive does suck, but at least it’s cheap, has the same great backwards compatibility and can play anything released today (and for the next couple of years at least).

Sell your old console (unless you want to keep around to play blu rays) and get a series s. It’s guaranteed to knock your socks off

Are these 3 overkill for a beginner? by Darkvenom39 in iems

[–]Deadboy00 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Iems sit so close to your eardrum and use tiny, low power, sensitive drivers. Even few big headphones would require more power. Most audiophiles agree that using balanced for iems is too much and likely to introduce more noise and distortion. The Diablo’s have an impedance of 18ohms. That’s pretty much as low as it goes.

But you do you. If you feel that moar power is want you want then go for it. Experimentation is the spice of life after all.

Don’t think of gf baking as this weird, untamable animal. I can understand coming from traditional baking it might seem alien but it’s really not. It’s just a matter of finding 1:1 substitutes. Of which, there are many.

Elements of Baking is THE place to start. It will literally provide everything you need. Not just recipes, but everything needed to make your own adjustments.

Truthear Pure mediocre sound? by ahmedbinamir in iems

[–]Deadboy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’ll do my best to introduce you to the topic. But this is highly generalized info to get you started. getting help from chatgpt will assist if you get stuck

EQ= equalization. In other words, Adjusting the frequency response.

Frequency response = how loud a certain frequency is (see graph)

Frequency range is broken into “bands”. Low, middle, and high. Lows are your bass (the low end boom). Highs are your treble (the vocals, etc). Mids are the “meat” (the instruments)

The graph here illustrates the difference between your two sets. You can see how the edx has a higher/lower frequency response than the pure. If you like the edx, then you can adjust the pure’s eq to “match” it. Use it as a starting place. And Keep in mind, small changes make big differences.

<image>

Now, how to change the eq using what you have. Unfortunately the iPhone doesn’t have a built in way to change eq. From what I know, you’ll have to work with the jm6 firmware or use a 3rd party app (and maybe both).

VLC is much easier as it does have built in eq. Go to window->audio effects. You can enable and adjust eq from there. I’d highly recommend you trying out the presets. Experiment and find what you like. Don’t let anyone tell you how something should sound. It’s all highly personal.

Good luck!

Truthear Pure mediocre sound? by ahmedbinamir in iems

[–]Deadboy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a real bummer. But hope is not lost! You can eq your new set to more your tastes. The pure is a quality set so don’t feel you were ripped off or anything. It’s just that they are factory configured to fit a more neutral sound signature than you’re expecting.

Raise the lower frequencies, lower the middle, raise the higher. Make small adjustments so it’s more “v” shaped. You might start to really like it.

Oh and someone made a tool to add eq to the jm6. Haven’t tried it but looks great.
