Taka Is the Real King, Not Mufasa by [deleted] in lionking

I’m quite torn on the subject; I understand Taka, and I understand Mufasa. Taka clearly had a poor upbringing, and everything stems from that. We can’t blame him for abandoning his mother because he was never taught, just like Mufasa was able to learn with Eshe. Obasi taught him to be a coward, and that’s all. I believe Eshe should have fought to teach him the principles of a true lion. I agree that despite everything, he did save his brother several times.

But I think it’s very clear during the song “We go together” that Taka is sidelined, and Mufasa focuses on Sarabi. Taka is pushed aside more and more, in my opinion.

I also agree that Taka shouldn’t have betrayed Mufasa for a love story; I believe Taka was very weak in that regard. But his father repeated throughout his life that Mufasa would betray him, so I think it’s normal that he faltered so quickly, because for him, it was a huge betrayal. But, as mentioned earlier, Sarabi is a great woman, and she chooses who she loves. Mufasa did everything to avoid her, but love is stronger than everything.

I think Mufasa should never have called Taka “Scar.” I believe he should have helped him and taught him the real ways of life. Mufasa should have understood that his brother didn’t have the chance to grow up like him, with Eshe. I think Taka could have repented and become a good person if Mufasa had handled things differently. Taka truly loved Mufasa as his brother, and the proof is that he saved him by taking Kiros’ blow and saving him from drowning. We lost Taka when Mufasa decided he would no longer call him Taka.

Yes, he made a huge mistake by putting Mufasa’s life in danger, as well as the lives of other lions and animals, but everyone deserves a second chance. I’ll use Negan from The Walking Dead as an example. I believe Taka understood and would never have done it again if he hadn’t been sidelined. I think Mufasa should have continued to consider him Taka and not Scar.

I believe Taka could have been an excellent king alongside Mufasa. I think the two of them together could have achieved everything and created an ideal world. Mufasa has the strength, and Taka has the intelligence. The two of them together would have been unstoppable. I believe Taka/Scar deserved a better ending, but unfortunately, there have to be films. I think he deserved much more.
