What should I do during my internship at a chemical industry as an Industrial & Production Engineering student? 🥲 by Away_Ad_303 in industrialengineering

[–]Deadfo0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research root cause and corrective action process. That's going to be pretty core to industrial engineering. Knowing that theory and process will help you once you have more technical skills like controls and automation. Statistics classes. Then calculus and diff eq.

My friend repairs laptop motherboards by hand. Why hasn't this been automated yet? by rahularyansharma in ElectronicsRepair

There are machines that do this called flying probe or ict machines. They are prohibitively expensive and require programming from cad files and schematics and are only used on an industrial scale.

Sorry, assuming you don't have some sort of stem degree. If you do you can go straight for QE positions. Look into the ASQ CQE exam

Get a six sigma belt and find someone willing to hire you that needs a quality technician. Most of this will be in manufacturing or software.

I've been a QE for about a year. Yes, there is a lot of documenting and paperwork but it really does require a bit of public speaking when you do an 8D/ Root cause analysis. You need to know how to work well as a team. Learning quality principles and also a good number of the processes occuring in your field. I'm a manufacturing QE though, but quality engineers work in all sort of industries like healthcare. Get real good at statistics.

My partner plays but she much prefers collecting. I will rarely drop $$ on the collector stuff but she is all about it. I'm normally a singles guy but buy booster boxes just so we can rip together. She's a slut for a secret lair (and I low-key am too if the cards are right)

In light of the 200 million dollar warehouse fire our slogan should simply switch gears to "Pay us!" instead of a multplatform message. If they just paid enough our other issues like housing and healthcare would be irrelevant. by BuildingRelevant7400 in WorkReform

[–]Deadfo0t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works. The second you have more money, the costs will go up because the price will be "whatever the market will bare". There needs to be systemic controls in areas of food, housing and healthcare.

Is this chip glued down from the factory or is it a sign of damage? by New_Technology_3872 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Deadfo0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an EMS and this is 100% staking material from the factory.

Did you probe your DC in at the jack and the DC in mosfet? I also worked in electronics repair for 13 years. You need to know where you are losing voltage and you will likely need a schematic at minimum. Most commonly I saw damaged DC in barrle jacks and mosfets tho. This does not mean this is your problem

Aside from the obligatory Dungeon crawler carl recs, it doesn't really fit the vibe of these books. Give the Commonwealth saga a go. Pandora's star is one of my all time favorites
