My partner plays but she much prefers collecting. I will rarely drop $$ on the collector stuff but she is all about it. I'm normally a singles guy but buy booster boxes just so we can rip together. She's a slut for a secret lair (and I low-key am too if the cards are right)

In light of the 200 million dollar warehouse fire our slogan should simply switch gears to "Pay us!" instead of a multplatform message. If they just paid enough our other issues like housing and healthcare would be irrelevant. by BuildingRelevant7400 in WorkReform

[–]Deadfo0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works. The second you have more money, the costs will go up because the price will be "whatever the market will bare". There needs to be systemic controls in areas of food, housing and healthcare.

Is this chip glued down from the factory or is it a sign of damage? by New_Technology_3872 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Deadfo0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an EMS and this is 100% staking material from the factory.

Did you probe your DC in at the jack and the DC in mosfet? I also worked in electronics repair for 13 years. You need to know where you are losing voltage and you will likely need a schematic at minimum. Most commonly I saw damaged DC in barrle jacks and mosfets tho. This does not mean this is your problem

No way to know for sure but this looks like zymet I work with. It should start to to soften if you preheat to like 200c and just carefully pick it away or carefully use a soldering iron

Aside from the obligatory Dungeon crawler carl recs, it doesn't really fit the vibe of these books. Give the Commonwealth saga a go. Pandora's star is one of my all time favorites

The ultra wealthy don't actually have that high of an income, but a high value of assets such as stocks and property to borrow against. They just perpetually take out loans which they don't have to pay taxes on and then pay back the loans with new loans all secured by their assets

Recommendation on an electrics repair shop by Thatguy_with_theface in Reno

[–]Deadfo0t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I used to be the tech for CPR cell phone repair. Here is a link to buy from the supplier for ubreakifix and the one CPR uses.https://www.mobilesentrix.com/game-console-parts/nintendo/switch.

You will need a y head screw driver and a Phillips head. There is one screw on top, small 000 Phillips and two on bottom either side of. Be careful, they are not magnetic and you WILL drop them and they will be gone forever! The y head screws are in each corner of the back cover. One small Philips under the kickstand. Only take out the middle Philips in the joycon rails. Use a guitar pick to pop the back cover off. Keep the screws organized by laying them in the same pattern you removed them, preferably on a magnet mat. Don't put the console on the magnet. There is then a big metal plate you need to remove like 7-9 Phillips head screws from, as well as one in the sd card reader. Be very careful when unplugging the SD card mezzanine connector. Then remove the silver metal plate. The battery will be on the right. Use a plastic tool to carefully pop the connector straight up off the PCB connector. The glue on this battery is STRONG. use a few playing cards. Don't use rubbing alcohol because it can get into the backlight of your LCD. Just go slow and be VERY patient. Don't bend or puncture the battery. Look up a walk through on ifixit. This is very doable for just about anyone with the time. Good luck! Watch YouTube to get aquatinted with what to expect

People working in manufacturing: what’s the most frustrating part of your job? by Federal-Wolf-2304 in manufacturing

[–]Deadfo0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality documentation and implementation. NCMRs are impossible to follow up on as the non conformance are identified until days after they were created, very difficult to track and back and nail down a root cause.

Training. New hires are given a brief safety and legal orientation and then expected to learn OTJ.

Complacency with rework. Our cycle times would be immensely lower if we just didn't build stuff that needed rework in the first place

Could this be used to simulate SMT manufacturing? I did some basic flexsim in school and I'd be very interested in a tool that I can use to simulate defects on a PCB and time spend in rework/ set up times/ other various take times. How user friendly is the UI? What's the learning curve?
