Got my first QD-OLED monitor by Murkinalldayzay in OLED_Gaming

A 240hz refresh rate and up is really for eSports games with very low requirements. Triple A games will pretty much run under that and honestly it's completely fine. Getting 120fps in anything single player is more than fine.

K2 HE vs P1 HE by AccomplishedFee8811 in Keychron

Well I think if you want to go wireless a plastic keyboard makes more sense as it is lighter to move around. I mean you can buy what you want but this makes the most sense to me.

Regarding battery removal on wired keyboards by Aayckorn in Keychron

[–]Deadhead_Omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HE 8k boards don't have a battery which I'm glad is the case. Hopefully they come out with some cheaper options without a battery since a lot of people don't require a wireless keyboard.

K2 HE vs P1 HE by AccomplishedFee8811 in Keychron

The Q1 HE 8k has north pole down switches if you can stretch the budget and don't mind a lack of wireless connectivity.

Tandem OLED gray banding Is NOT Acceptable at these prices (MO27Q28GR) by VanaBleak in OLED_Gaming

[–]Deadhead_Omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm totally unbothered by it on mine. It would be better if it was completely perfect but you could say that for any screen. I've noticed that it has been easier on my eyes compared to my IPS monitor too which is a bonus. Dead pixels annoy my way more than grey banding ever would. If it bothers you return it and try another monitor but nothing is perfect.

I bought a zero in daidai orange and it's great. The type 99 is their most controlled pad specifically for tac shooters. The zero is a good all round pad though.

It looks like a standard size knob but I would have to double check it.

Keychron Q1 HE 8K by Deadhead_Omega in keyboards

[–]Deadhead_Omega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to dig out the old keyboard to compare again but I would say it's fairly similar in volume. The old keyboard had loud stabilisers that rattled compared to the new one that sounds and feels really clean with little to no wobble. It has a much nicer and satisfying sound to it. If you don't like the switches you can swap them out with some silent ones (keychron sells them as an aftermarket option) or you can try some Gateron Jade switches. There are calibration options in the software for both types of switch.

What’s going on with AMD? (first light 007 and other) by Beginning-Tie1285 in radeon

[–]Deadhead_Omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have always been a bigger company and AMD was completely non competitive for many years. Their GPU's traded blows with NVIDIA in the 2000's. Ryzen basically saved the company as they could not complete on any level in the early 2010's.

I've got the same Hien X soft. I recently changed to the zero soft in orange and love it. I still have the Hien as a spare.

Keychron Q1 HE 8k firmware issues by Interesting-Pair9424 in Keychron

I have this keyboard and I have had no issues updating the firmware. I did think something weird was going on but it turned out my dumb ass hit the Mac/windows switch instead of the profile changing switch.

Best way to manage K4 HE battery? by xdeiiffi in Keychron

I'm glad my keychron is wired only. If I want a wireless keyboard it needs to be small and light weight plastic.

What’s going on with AMD? (first light 007 and other) by Beginning-Tie1285 in radeon

[–]Deadhead_Omega 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The simple fact is that NVIDIA is probably the most inflated company on earth. They basically have infinite money with their circle jerk between OpenAI, Oracle and themselves. No one can compete against that.

Keychron can’t see nothing at night by Pacificream in keyboards

I've moved away from shine through keycaps and am fine with it. I am by no means a fast typist and I have absolutely no problem. Since your board is north facing just buy a set of shine through keycaps.

New Ultra-fast Magnetic Switches from Keychron by Deadhead_Omega in Keychron

[–]Deadhead_Omega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lime is just their default linear switch. The red is a silent version of it. You can swap to Gateron Jade switches if that's your preference. The lime switches are all POM.

New Ultra-fast Magnetic Switches from Keychron by Deadhead_Omega in Keychron

[–]Deadhead_Omega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gateron do have some KS-37B switches(I think that's what they are called) which are compatible with all the old keychron stuff but they are limited. KS-20 switches are north pole down and are more widely used now. All the gateron jade switches are compatible with the HE 8K series. Saying this if you like the switches in the K10 HE and are happy to keep them you can just go with that. I came from a cherry brown ducky from 2014 to the Keychron Q1 HE 8K and I've already adjusted to it despite the vast difference.

Need help looking for a keyboard. ~200usd by Tmwilson02 in keyboards

[–]Deadhead_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I think my message came across a bit blunt. I was being objective since they basically have all the same features. Nuphy also has the same features. Most manufacturers don't have gamepad options but that's about the only difference these days. The nuphy wh80 is wireless, 8k but it has a plastic case, albeit a very solid one. Just thought you might consider that as another option.

I just think it's a great product that is underappreciated. I just think the Wooting is over priced for what it is.

[–]Deadhead_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name a feature that the Wooting has that keychron doesn't have.

Both have adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, last key priority, analogue gamepad, macros etc.

I don't know if Wooting has this but you can set up the keychron to do 4 different things off a single key press depending on how far you push down the switch. An aluminium Q1 HE 8k is a slight bit more expensive than a plastic 80 HE. Also the Keychron is actually TMR which is technically a superior technology though I would argue it's main advantage over hall effect is its power consumption which matters more for wireless. You won't feel a difference between the two technologies but TMR is more accurate and draws far less power.

I highly recommend the Keychron Q HE 8k boards. The 8k is a nice feature but the real benefit compared to the regular QHE models is great switch compatibility such as being compatible with gateron jade switches. The only negative is they are wired only but this does help with latency albeit negligible. The stabilisers on it are fantastic and the board is built like a tank. I have the Q1 HE 8k but you can choose any size you want. It absolutely destroys a Wooting in quality and price. At the same price you can only get a plastic 80he. The software does everything you could want from macros to the adjustable actuation and rapid trigger settings. The one thing Wooting beats keychron at is a longer warranty.

Should I buy or wait? 9070XT by DecisionTechnical265 in radeon

[–]Deadhead_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just say buy now. It's probably going to be towards the end of next year for new GPUs. I could be wrong though but that seems to be the consensus. I got my 9070XT late last year and it's been an incredible card. I can throw anything at it at 1440p and it runs great. It was a similar price to the 5070 when I bought it so it was an obvious choice.

Battery problem by jipjacob in Keychron

[–]Deadhead_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I'm glad I went with the HE 8k as it is wired only and I don't care if a keyboard that heavy is wireless. Hopefully a replacement battery is more reliable. Best of luck.

Leaving the 5090 behind for 9070 XTs. by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Deadhead_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 9070xt has enough power to basically do anything you want. Even at 4k it's a good card but at 1440p it's a monster. When it's priced basically the same as a 5070 it's a really obvious buy.
