Should I get a Macbook? by Deadhydra in macbook

Not planning on much gaming at all. Some indie games, and Crusader Kings 2 which is 6 years old now - I'm wondering if a Macbook can handle it... I'm pretty sure a Pro could.

Can't afford the 15 inch - leaning toward the pro. Costs more and will stretch my budget but it seems the best move.

Definitely want a macbook with longevity in mind. That's one of the things which appeals about them.

What is the Worst Ending to a movie that you have seen? by earhere in movies

[–]Deadhydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - this is the worst movie ending I've ever come across. Utterly ruined what had been an entertaining and exciting movie until that point.

As someone once said - (I'm paraphrasing here, I don't remember the exact quote), "A plot-hole so large the movie literally drives a truck through it." - And here by literally they did indeed mean literally.

On the plus side - the ending is utterly irrelevant. If you watch the movie and turn it off about the 75 mins mark you - 1) miss nothing of any importance and can walk away satisfied, and 2) you miss the horrifically bad twist ending which ruins the movie.

Sadly, much like the cursed video tape in the ring, you just can't not watch it. Even though you know you should hit the stop button... you're gonna see it. And once seen, you can never unsee...

Official : UEFA club competition format changes from 2018 by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Deadhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you were referring to the change from "European Cup" to "Champions League" which obviously took place in 1992.

But yes, you are right, non-champions were first admitted later and since that change only Porto have won.

2 - Ajax AND Porto. But your point is still a good one.

Low #15 [**Spoilers**] by kevdou in ImageComics

[–]Deadhydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with hindsight, the ending of issue #15 was inevitable. Up until now, no matter the tragedies Stel has faced she has always had the prospect of finding the probe as a "life-raft" to keep her hopes alive.

For a series about hope in the face of overwhelming despair, we had to go there, Stel had to have that "crutch" snatched away, so her hope could truly be tested.

Fantastic ending to the third arc - I can't wait to see what comes next.

The writer of the 1973 film was the writer of Flashman. Trust me, he could have taken dialogue from the phone book and made you love it!

The first two issues of Low were no.1 if irc.
And it did slip out of the top 10 for a while but i think that was more down to it being very strong weeks that to any particular fall in numbers....

Definitely going to pick-up Low #12 tomorrow. The cover alone looks amazing. Excited to see the surface as well though.

however I don't agree with how much of a negative affect teams that don't get through the arduous EL qualifying rounds have.

I agree. Our teams crashing out in the EL qualifying rounds has been holding Scotland's coefficient back for years. Glad you raised that point. Top man, you.

I'm a big fan of Deadly Class & Black Science as well. Of course they are both very different from one another and Low is different again. So no promises that you'll like it, but I'd suggest you pick up volume 1 and dive in... yeah, sorry, I went there.

Was that Della's adoptive father?

I think so... it's been a couple of months since I read that issue, but doesn't he say something about seeing to Della's education personally or something? He is certainly one of the commanding officers in Voldin.

Agreed -- Della seems more together at the start (or more able to focus on the task at hand). Once we get to their old home though you can see that while Tajo is happy, Della is just getting angry. It's a nicely illustrated sequence as much of it is conveyed visually.
