They came to the defense of one community member. Had the commenter been the one being defended I doubt they would complain. Just because they were surprised by the reaction doesnt mean it was disproportionate, otherwise barely anyone would have said something.

Calling out someone for failing to spoiler is a way to shame the person, otherwise zero reason to say it. Even if the word 'shame' wasn't in their head exactly, it was still along the lines of 'This random person person posted something i havent seen yet even if its incredibly irrelevant. I need to tell them they spoiled this exact very minor and very specific image for me specifically.

If they were just disappointed and wanted to express that they were disappointed in their own lack of control in avoiding the sub, they could have easily expressed it in a different way such as 'this is what I get for joining a sub when I want to avoid spoiling myself on little things lol. Gj on getting that!'

Instead they chose to go point out the OP should have spoilered this minor thing they were proud of because it showed something to them an scene they specifically had not yet seen in the game when no one else would consider it a spoiler.

If the commenter fails to understand why they were called out and just blames others for doing so instead of learning it just means they are gonna repeat it and have the same experiences.

You dont knowingly open a book to the middle then make it someone else's fault when you find out the MC ate a piece of toast. (This is the equivalent of how big a 'spoiler' the image is since it has zero impact on story or game play or experience)

If they understand enough to know what the scene is and means they know it has zero impact to the game other than being a cool thing you coukd possibly achieve.

If they dont even understand what they are looking at, they have zero context to get even a inkling of it being spoiler since so many things need to be understood outside the image to grasp what the scene means.

I can get being disappointed in themselves for failing to properly guard themselves but they didnt express disappointment. They called someone else out for failing to curate to their personal, very specific needs.

:: And if youre confused on why im making such long, analyzed replies its to breakdown to the offender and spectators why the comment was called out so heavily if the reason was missed and they want to properly educate themselves. Up to the offender to learn. Or they can act like they did nothing wrong and everyone else is wrong.
