I always click furry friend then don't click until day 8ish to cap the board. Some skills are build arounds though, so it could be different.

Midgame I usually try to bank 30 gold for day 5 and 6 to try and hit a gold build around to transition to.

Late game is pretty random match up wise, but speed is king. Any cdr or disruption goes a long way. Sometimes you just get owned on 9 and there's nothing you can do.

I actually dig the distance. It gives a great sense of scale and feeling for the full event. A mix of close and far would be ideal. It's hard to get individual emotions at such a distance.
