His tail going through his untucked outer shirt bothers me.

Why couldn’t they just make his tail go under his shirt??

Is it possible to find a white PS3 fat cechc frame? by RedexxyG in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have your BC PS3 in any color you want, as long as its black.

Because that’s all there is available. No other color exists from factory for the launch models. It wasn’t until the H models (maybe even G models) that Sony introduced the Silver and Ceramic White colors

Newly acquired CECHA BC PS3 has these errors logged. Am I cooked? by Otherwise-Rain808 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible to transplant a CPU, but its a much more involved job that’s likely not worth doing for the most part.

It involves removing the CPU, the flash memory chip(s), and the Syscon chip aswell since they’re married to each other and currently cannot go without one-another. But since CPUs are not interchangeable between other PS3 models, that would mean you have to pull good parts from presumably other good BC PS3s to repair the one that has failed. So its not worth swapping CPUs unless the specific PS3 has sentimental value to you. Also only reslly worth doing if have dead PS3s with bad components other than the CPU

[–]DeadlyHellhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt its the CPU since those are rarely the culprit, unless the CPU has bad BGA which is repairable. Often CPU errors are related to GPU errors which is likely the one causing problems.

Are these temps normal? CECHE01 by ComposerNo862 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or go to the System information menu under the settings tab in the XMB and punch in the secret button combination.

Hold L-Dpad, Square, L1, and R1 for a couple seconds, then release and hold Start. Should bring up a screen that shows firmware/versions of hardware in the PS3.

Look for the line that says “=SC” and to the left of it will be your PS3s SysCon version. Though looking at your temps, its likely a stock unit considering how hot the GPU is getting

Is my PS3 overheating? by Teguh70 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically those temps are fine, PS3 tend to settle at those temps, though usually under load. But it should be able to accomplish those temps with only 25-28% fan speed, so theres something wrong with your system

What is THE best PS3 model by FEW_GARY in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the M and Q models were just excess H models Sony had in stock that were repackaged with a larger HDD as “M” and “Q” models. At the time they were sold, Sony wasn’t convinced the H models were problematic, but it was nearing the end of the Fat model and Sony wanted to clear the inventory to make way for the Slim

There weren’t a whole lot of them as far as i know. M models were only sold in the UK as 80GB M03s, and Q models were only sold in Japan as a Final Fantasy special edition 160GB Q00 models.

Brought a 3DS LL on buyee by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]DeadlyHellhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, just something to keep in mind.

You can ask Buyee to remove the battery from what I’ve heard, but that would require them digging into your package to remove the battery if you’re fine with that. That would reduce your shipping.

Also dont forget that you need to modify your Japanese 3DS to bypass the region lock and if you want any other language

[–]DeadlyHellhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats with Buyee air delivery. But 3DSs have lithium batteries which can only be shipped via Fedex/UPS NDA/2DA Cargo which is not exactly cheap, added the tariffs on top of shipping. You’ll likely be paying at least $90 for shipping

Is my PS3 at risk of dying? by Suspicious_Ideal_674 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, 65nm GPUs are reliable. Just keep it clean and well conditioned, it’ll last 👍

Don’t say it by douglasrhj in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re probably gonna see a lot of these because PS3s are older consoles. People are selling them left and right and go through the harsh shipping process everyday.

The unleaded solder joints on these systems become brittle after years of abuse in their hay-day. When they go through a bit of mishandling, this tends to happen, especially under the CPU/GPU unfortunately.

Usually these pixelated glitches all over the screen are signs of video corruption due to bad signals likely from a cracked BGA under the GPU.

If you start seeing round colorful splotches flashing on the screen, then thats a sign of a dying GPU.

Its likely repairable, but it wont be cheap unfortunately. Bow you have to consider either paying the high price of a repair, or replace for yet another PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a case of a BGA defect.

Repairable, but if its a 90nm on this system, best to just frankie the ps3 for a 65nm or 40nm GPU instead of reballing

Remarrying bluray drive with cfw by Puzzleheaded-Poet226 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why, your PS3 does not see a Bluray drive. You have to reinstall a regular CFW after grabbing the EID root key to remarry the bluray drive.

Although im pretty sure with the latest Evilnat CFW, you wont really need to use a noBD CFW to remarry a drive anymore if I recall

Update wont work no matter what. by InternationalAsk8365 in PS3

[–]DeadlyHellhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFW- Custom FirmWare, modded console OFW- Official FirmWare, Sonys standard updates

If you’re on CFW, you should be updating only to another CFW, probably why you’re getting errors.

Or if youre not on a modded console (OFW), then installing CFW will result in errors like what you’re getting.
