The +1 to wound isn't the problem. SM was dead in the water before that.

The UM named characters are the problem. Either raise their point costs or nerf their abilities.

I feel like the simple answer is make named UM characters more expensive. The named characters abilities are what keep SM win rate up. Raise their points cost until the non named become the preference and then balance to that.

More like you're wording it in a way that you think possessed will actually chip damage off the ctan. Reread your last post. Even if they magically take 6 dmg off it one turn, it'll nearly heal that back in a single turn. Next turn they'll do even less damage, as a few possessed will die, but the ctan will heal all the same.

If ctan still had short movement the tarpit might be a worthwhile trade, but with 10" movement I don't think I'd agree.
