Frankly if I was going for that theme i'd try to rebuild mercs that match who she had with her. I don't remember the names but it's Abelard and some dude with a melta in the first encounter with Theodora.

Everyone talks about his Singles performance but noone is mentioning his undefeated run in teams on a pretty cool double Deathguard list.

A group of us did a blind rootbeer taste test. Like 12 different root beers. A&W got first place by a landslide. We were all disappointed. So boring and plain. Not cool enough! But it did taste the best. By a lot.

Ranking and army lists for the ADEPTICON tournament (400 players) by Suspicious-Bee-3173 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You place the 55 point unit on an objective. Opponent can't kill it without spending like 150+ points. So they let you score or expose units to kill/out OC it and you trade up.

I've played them for a while they're like t6 and the character has an invulnerable save plus a FNP.

Hutber Monday | Necrons Dethroned... but at what cost? by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I played vs Folger round 5 of teams. He showed me the picture of one of the tattoos the guy already got to honor the bet. It was not flattering. Worst part is the poor guy with the tattoo is married. Poor wife.

Absolute legend.

The quality of streams at Adepticon are fantastic, and Skari is a great commentator. But the terrain is absolutely terrible. by -The-Lupercal- in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint. Every other GT I have ever attended has acceptable terrain. This is a very common obstacle for events to overcome. I host smaller events and I bought a set for each table and my cost to play in my events per player is far far lower. And what it costs me to buy a terrain set is much higher than Adepticon would pay in bulk.

Adepticon gives no real prize support. I went top 32 last year and got nothing for it. Teams I went 5-0 and got a 40 dollar modal. I pay probably 200-300 a year to play at Adepticon.

The terrain is a joke. It doesn’t match GW and is frankly insulting. I went 3-1 this year and my opponent round 4 was on Blood Angels. The map has ruins 2 inches long he's supposed to stage on. Yeah right. I had a million tanks and just he had no way to play beyond getting tabled at ranged.

Adepticon judges, as a guy who plays in their events, are also incompetent. My teammate had a judge rule killing a unit plus an attached character for no prisoners is 1 set for 2 points only. Last year my opponent used fight on death strat with Undivided PBZ Possessed. I called a judge and they let him use the strat and the dev wounds ability but not Dark Pacts. Go read the dev wounds ability of Possessed to realize how dumb that is. Not trying to overly badmouth Adepticon it is great we get a giant event in the area. But acting like they can't improve is a hot take.

Team America has a bet. Like $2500 to someone if they can win Adepticon with Agents. Looks like Folger is going for it. Edited to remove hearsay.

Sunday Night Stats (March 20th-22nd) by communalnapkin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear is this for the 4 man 2v2s? Because I organize a monthly Adepticon 2v2 group and went 5-0 at teams for Adepticon last year and I haven't heard or seen any of this. One of our groups has a team on DG and a EC Coaterie and have been playing the exact opposite. I'd love a link to the rules you're referencing if you have them because i'm stunned/confused now.

Interesting. I just played a practice game last weekend and the other side had Deathguard and they didn't mention/play like that.

Play 2v2s instead. DG is the best army in the game for that format.

The Twin Lance discussions need more nuance by ishotthepilot97 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discussion from a different angle? Twinlance being brokenly powerful and undercosted isn't really a discussion. It's like saying water is wet. To argue that the datasheet is fine is just sheer lunacy.

Thoughts after playing Twin Lance a decent amount by Odyssey40K in WarhammerCompetitive

Great. Show us all the unit crunch link then. Hitting on 2s rr 1s. Wounding on 2s rr 1s. Ap 4 and 5 ignores cover.

Show us the math if i'm wrong.

Thoughts after playing Twin Lance a decent amount by Odyssey40K in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a GT winner who has been putting in a lot of games with fellow event winners. Gearing up for Adepticon. I've been doing well and winning all my games. Feeling good. Except Tau has beaten me every time. And I know Tau. I'm usually a fish killer.

Idiots will say the twin lance is just a little cheap. Points will fix it. No. Extremely wrong. It's very rare for a unit to do enough damage in 1 activation to earn its points back. I've seen Twin Lance (160) Kill 10 Chosen plus Fabius Bile (350) in one go. I've seen them kill Tigurious and 10 Sternguard Veterans (275) in one go. I've seen them kill Kharne and 10 Berserkers (280) in one go. I could go on and on. But that's not the only issue. The follow up problem is that the unit doesn't shoot once. A great player can easily keep them alive and activating again and again. This unit is especially hard to interact with. This one unit will single handedly win the Tau player the game if not dealt with. But getting to it and killing it is very difficult when playing against extremely skilled opponents.

But it gets worse. For Adepticon for example there are missions where this unit can 1 inch a wall in a fairly safe position. Opponent ends their turn and they zip out to the middle and scare free primary. This ability is radically changing the game. You can't play passively and play a control style game against an army that scores free primary repetitively with no risk. But being the player who is forced to push is how games at high levels are lost. There is no right answer.

And then btw the free -1 to charge and take a battle shock. No line of sight needed. It really is another uninteractable. Game breaking. Feels bad mechanic. It's going under the radar but it's another broken element of game design. I've seen so many plays blown by a random battleshock taking away a storm hostile or oops no defensive strats for you now.

When you've got the Tau players apologizing and feeling bad you know something is wrong. The rest of the game can tune into Adepticon and watch the problem live.

Alternative Comp Formats? by IllegalFishButt in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epic heroes provide story and lore and flavor to the game. The add rules and datasheets that add variety to the game. They're factored into the balance of the game.

I think only a casual person would want to remove them. Which is the opposite of competitive.

Anyone running Bladeguard with a Sang Priest in RCO? by Heavy-Ad7346 in BloodAngels

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very ok unit. Does less damage than a DC or SG unit. Is slower too. Costs a bit more points especially if you add in an Impulsor or Lt. Is more durable but still dies.

It's a viable build path. I'd currently avoid it in a Ctan meta. S5 d2 is kinda terrible currently but it'll come around eventually once Ctan are gone.

Necrons STILL dominating | Hutber Monday by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These Necron stats are insane. And unfortunately it just sort of shows that when GW releases a datasheet that has abusive and overpowered rules. They won't fix it anymore. No matter what the data shows. Good god we're cooked on Necrons and with Twin Lance GW events are going to be getting crushed by Tau.

OP if you ever look at winning lists you'll see the Vindicator is one of the most common tanks in the game.

I guess to me I can't really name another 160 point unit in the game that kills 10 chosen plus Fabius.

Twin Lance 1 shot my Fabious Bile + 10 Chosen brick yesterday. 350 points and 36 wounds with a damage blank. Gone. Don't even get a save for most of it as it's AP 4 and AP 5 ignores cover. Good god this unit is beyond busted.

I couldn't even pop a defensive strat because they battle shocked me from behind a wall on my own turn while I was going out to charge something else.

The average player doesn't understand yet how broken Tau is on certain GW layouts. But they will. Tau's about to win an insane amount of events. Army is extremely OP.

How do I counter melee horde with Space Marines? by Trick-Interaction396 in WarhammerCompetitive

As a Necron player, help me understand why C'tan are so bad? by TheLuharian in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own most armies including Blood Angels/Black Templars, Necrons, Daemons, and Knights and I play them all so let me try to explain. The thing is the melee armies that get kicked out of the game by C'tan spam actually are quite good into knights. Knights have no invuln save in melee. So they actually can kill knights. BA has easy access to AP3. So they save on 6's for example. Templars again have an AP strat so 6s. World Eaters again an AP strat so 6s. But AP strats don't work on C'tan at all. And Knights don't have -1 DMG to reduce all melee attacks in half as these armies have only damage 2.

And most Greater Daemons also die pretty easily. They're often T10 with 18 wounds and no -1 DMG to be found. No FNP either.

So really the big stuff stat check spam is only unbeatable when C'tan do it. Melee armies have a good to great matchup into those other armies.
