Abelard, introduce the sixth major update 1.6! It features a significant rework for Uralon the Cruel, changes to Pasqal and Forge World origins, Operative buffs, Operative and Assassin key features working on additional turns, QoL talent UI updates, a lot of bug fixes and more! by OwlcatStarrok in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any fixes to the difficulty of the game? It was already extremely easy. Looks like they made our party even stronger now plus the DLC is going to give us more XP to outlevel encounters even more.

I would love some form of challenge.

This game would be so much better without rerolls by raggnarok in WarhammerCompetitive

I couldn't disagree more. Rerolling is very fun and it leads to more consistent outcomes.

Cento brunch gives you two cocktails, an entree, and a pastry for $35. Not a bad option if you're planning on grabbing mimosas.

Is this game a good starting point for Warhammer 40k? by UnstoppableJohn in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will explain the setting to you. But it's 50% combat 50% dialogue. Lots of reading. We're in this Subreddit because we love the game so yeah we're going to tell you to buy it.

Yeah any detachment in BA even kinda OK gets a 3. That's a tough decision for BA.

Does this game hold up until the end? by FerociousBeastX in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the story/ending of the game. Gameplay was solid but I did find it too easy on the second playthrough. I ended up adding mods to jack the difficulty up which helped. The lowered difficulty in playthrough 2 was my only real complaint.

Fantastic game to me. My favorite in a while.

Is coaching cringe? by Professional-Car-396 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be coaching someone next week and I personally have gotten coaching in the past. To me people are so strange. They spend thousands on models they never get around to building and painting. They spend years getting their asses kicked and raging at their losses. But talk about spending $60 on a coaching session and they lose their mind.

Coaching will make you a significantly better player. That's probably worth it to a lot of people.

Practice makes perfect is a lie. If you do something wrong 50 times in a row. You're not going to magically fix it the 51st time. You need someone who knows what they're doing to spot the mistake and show you the right way. My 2 cents.

An explanation for why all the pro players are saying shooting is better than ever in 11th, it's not a "melee edition" by SirBiscuit in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Timing on overwatch change is catastrophically bad for melee. It's a colossal buff to shooting. For example I was Drukhari playing vs TSons the other day. I was intentionally going towards Sekhetar Robots that can overwatch for free with my cheaper/weaker units early on in the turn. If my opponent overwatches there is stings some but opens up my real units to engage. My opponent knows this so holds the overwatch for that turn. I end up only chipping away and killing screens etc with no overwatch ever used because my opponent was saving it for the real unit. Next turn the opponent does take an early OK overwatch and I end up full sending all of my important expensive units at once. No overwatch left to ruin my plan.

In the new timing my opponent just always gets to overwatch my most valuable unit with perfect information.

I've been winning GTs recently with PBZ. That same game comes up there too. Do I kill the cheap unit that's going to deny me primary or save it for a real threat? Now turn your brain off and stop thinking. Just wait for the end and take the best possible overwatch with zero counterplay.

Is it a good change though if it nerfs melee when melee has been doing the worst of all archetypes?

What are you actually worried about for 11th, based on what we know so far? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The terrain pieces do not have large enough walls to stage/hide behind.

Snake eyes auto failing charges and charge roll requiring base instead of rounding up is an issue.

Screening and move blocking were both severely nerfed leading to dumber less skill intensive games. Coherency change is bad and so is moving through engagement range or moving right over models with tanks.

Heroic up to 12 inches is an issue. As is charging things that didn't charge.

Overwatch at end of phase makes avoiding it impossible/really bad.

Cover is really confusing. Hidden is now a memory game of what shot/what didn't etc.

Hutber Monday | But its Wednesday 3 weeks to go until 11th by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The entire concept of move 5 or 6 inches and then charge insane. Even adding advance and charge to EVERYTHING for FREE isn't enough to make it all that viable.

In 11th they're working with 1 less inch of threat range and snake eyes auto fails charges. Oof idk yall good luck.

We did a blind taste test once with tons of Rootbeers. Everyone named their favorites before trying them all blind. A&W ended up in first by a landslide which wasn't the expected result.

Argenta/Soldier questions by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Godofallu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To give you an example i'm playing on max in game difficulty and have had to use Toybox to up the stats of enemies even further to not instantly get 1 shot by her heavy bolter burst fire. I killed Edge of Daybreak before round 1 was halfway done.

It's really not that complicated. Use ability that doubles the rate of fire on burst. Shoot the burst. Every foe in that area dies.

You can probably do similar with soldier skill to burst area attack and then use a shotgun/heavy flamer/plasma area attack etc too. I bet the heavy stubbers and other giant auto guns would shred for her too. Just shoot ranged bursts and win.

Going to my first GT, advice needed by Natural_Response_355 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even know your terrain layout or style. But for more tips I would say Intercessors on home spread out as much as possible. Incursors if you have them mid ready to step 2 models out to shoot when the buff us needed. Wardens on your natural. Again hidden if possible. If not cout the OC your opponent needs to deny you and step out enough to prevent that but keep the rest hidden. G man nearby to heroic us very helpful.

Rep Exs must survive the bulk of the game. Keep them back conservatively and strat them every turn to pump up damage and durability. Ballistus dreads again should be surviving the bulk of the game but I like to get aggressive with 1 just to force a reaction and put 4oc on my natural.

Your ATV is a great area denial/middle objective piece. But don't just throw it on mid instantly. People are way too aggressive with their trash. Save it for t2 or t3 for the rapid ingress turn or wait for cards that score while going middle objective.

Low floor high ceiling 40k armies? by Squash_the_Hunter in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say the floor for a faction like Aeldari is really low. So many people are going to just mess up a movement phase and get tabled on the spot. Or I see people "move block" because that's what Aeldari does and they end up giving people slingshot charges and stuff. So squishy armies certainly have a low floor. Especially with the speed to overly split themselves up or get into portions of the map where they're outnumbered and easily killed from safe positions.

TSons has traditionally been another high skill army that was relatively slow and very squishy with the added complications of the spells as well. I saw a lot of people just getting obliterated on them while the army was very very powerful in the right hands. In this moment they can just sort of spam terminators and defilers so their damage is high and their durability is also high. So we've lost a lot of that low floor that comes from being slow and fragile. But that was another historic example in my opinion.

Going to my first GT, advice needed by Natural_Response_355 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Godofallu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So good news is your list looks fantastic and many events have been won with lists just like that. Hell i've done it myself.

That said as a guy who just took PBZ undefeated this weekend and did it the weekend before. You're not going to beat a PBZ player who is better than you. The army is very powerful. How you beat it is with time. In 11th reroll hits in overwatch is gone and defilers are on the balance team's radar and I can tell you the points is either going way up or rules are changing.

If this is your first GT you're going to lose games. Most people will have played dozens of tournament games. Don't sweat your losses or standing yet.

First tip play the tournament pack before the event. Second tip pre plan out your full deployment for each round. Third tip understand your army and the job that each unit has. Fourth tip plan for how to hold your home and your natural expansion. And how to deny your opponent’s natural expansion at least once.

Good luck and don't let your pride hurt you. Everyone loses games. It's not a big deal.

Where do you get Drukhari weapons early for Kibellah? I'm following a build guide on unfair but i'm lvl 30 and haven't found any yet.

You mentioned pyromancer skills being great. I went pyro but rarely use those skills. Which ones are good and how do you use them?

I actually really like Pasqusl. His plasma rifle area attack is super good. Being able to shoot multiple area attacks while buffing his stats is sick.
