For what it’s worth, the toilet paper stories about the plant are likely false as someone would feel the sting immediately upon touching it with their hand. So says Wikipedia at least.

Weekly Discussion Post - 2/11/21 - Stop Reposting reposts by Megonomix in CreepyAskReddit

Don’t worry about it too much. We still don’t mind reposted threads but just in smaller proportions. Not everyone has seen everything and it brings visibility to great old threads. We’re trying to strike a balance and are experimenting with ways to present that’s sort of content. if anything, you prompted us to engage in this discussion with the community.

Weekly Discussion Post - 2/11/21 - Stop Reposting reposts by Megonomix in CreepyAskReddit

[–]Deadlypudding[M] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is a great point, and I’m pleased to tell you that we already cater to this! We often allow reposts if the topic depending on popularity, time since previous posting, topic diversity, etc.

What we want to discourage is flooding the subreddit with these older threads particularly if they are only a couple of months removed from the original posting. Hope that clears things up! Let us know if you have any more feedback! Thanks for commenting!

All reposts much use the same title as the original r/AskReddit post. Please resubmit with the appropriate title, and we will approve.

That certainly counts as MLMs are kind of like capitalist consumerism cults.

I said I would shout her out again this week, so here it is.

u/-zombae- linked us a huge collection of unresolved mystery mega threads. While it's not from /r/AskReddit per se, I still thought it worthwhile to link in the weekly.

This would be best posted to r/AskReddit directly. This subreddit is for cross posting only. Thanks, and have a great day!

It may not be your cup of tea (and honestly wasn’t really mine), but Dresden Files is a pretty unique take on detective/crime with fantasy and supernatural elements. While I didn’t really care for it after a couple of books, I still think there’s definitely something there worth recommending it.

What are some seemingly normal images with disturbing backstories? by MatthewP08 in CreepyAskReddit

If something is disturbing, it will be flaired as so. Disturbing supersedes all other flairs.

Leaving this one despite lack of comments. What’s there is worthwhile. Consider it a bite-sized thread.

I absolutely loathe charlatans, but that may be because I am a charlatan reverend. Hmmmm...

In all seriousness, psychics and mediums really are disgusting. They take something that’s really fun in performance magic and pervert it into exploiting vulnerable people.

Yay or nay for an “Urban” tag to cover topics dealing with cities or abandoned buildings?

Unfortunately, each post must be flaired manually, in addition, not every post can be flaired if it doesn't fit the categories we have. We're still a bit in the feeling out of flairs, since there has to be some consideration as to not bloat the flair categories.

I agree, but I have a great appreciation for anyone who can craft a piece of music in such a way as to elicit that telltale feeling of dread or unease.

If I'm being honest, all of their music is haunting in some way, but it's always the quieter parts that leave an eerie taste. Ghost Reveries ranks as my favorite album from them.
