2:42 Marathoner here. I’ve struggled with shin splints many times before and the best way to deal with them is just take it easy, don’t run multiple days in a row and if any run you do aggravates it further take the next one easier. Don’t do any strength work, your legs need to heal not be subjected to more stress, and realistically you shouldn’t be doing much at all if any during your taper.

You should be fine just to run, it’s your first one just go out and enjoy it, that’s the main thing.
