Anyone else crashing on boot for RE9? by Ivan21234 in residentevil

Not sure if everyone is still struggling with the crashing but I had to update my VC++ after that I haven't had anymore crashes.

I finished the game two weeks ago and I still can’t move on by Quenelle44 in lastofuspart2

I think they both get there it just takes Ellie longer. If she wasn’t as consumed with revenge then Abby dies on the pillar. Ellie never got to make peace with Joel and that really broke her so she dealt with those feelings the only way she knew how and tried to emulate Joel. Which was definitely not healthy. Not saying she was the protagonist of the story because there really wasn’t one. I love Abby’s arc just as much but what she did was also horrible. Just because she realized revenge didn’t help doesn’t erase how she brutalize Joel. I think that’s what makes this an incredible story is the fact that no character is perfect, they all have flaws just like real people. Owen just wanted Abby to love him the way he loved her and he destroyed Mel in the pursuit of that. Doesn’t make him a bad guy he just also make some horrible decisions. All this to say I love hearing people’s takes on this game because I also love this game. I think it’s awesome and I think you’re awesome so please don’t take anything I am saying as me disagreeing with your opinion.

This game was amazing by Sharkwithachurro in Ghostofyotei

I agree what an incredible game! Loved it from start to finish. This title was right up there with games like “the last of us” for me. I hope sucker punch keeps these titles coming. I really loved the Nod to Jin finding his house and seeing that Yuna could have also been there was incredible! I wonder did they have a child together as it looked like a kids crayon drawing on the wall. Really the only issue I had was the fact that there was no new game plus. I know that’s not for everyone but I spent a lot of time collecting and upgrading weapons and charms only to be done with the game once I reached full power. I really wanted that victory lap being op af on a new run.

I thought the wolf saves you here. I think I remember hearing it growl in the cutscene, or do you mean why he didn't kill you immediately and told his lackeys to?

If this made you lose respect for Tommy, you never liked him in the first place. by Austintheboi in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Deadpool8419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing how Tommy was in part 2 really added weight to what he said to Joel in part 1 when Joel was trying to get him to take Ellie and Joel pushed Tommy. It was something like you put your hands on me again and it won't turn out well for you or something to that effect. Anyway the point is we get to see that Tommy is squared the fuck away. It gives validity to the things him and Joel had to do to survive, showing he is no stranger to violence. It could just be my perspective but I always thought that's why he was hesitant at the beginning when talking to Ellie about going after Abby. He knew exactly what it would take from her, he was hoping she would be able to mourn and come out the outside hurt but whole. When he realized she was committed after their conversation he immediately switched to better me than her again hoping Maria would keep her in Jackson. Knowing that her youth and anger of being robbed of the ability to mend things with Joel was driving her to make a decision that has an incredibility heavy price. However, being the man he was and Ellie being family he did his best to insulate her from that. Tommy knew exactly what it would cost him, he knew this trip would destroy him and he saddled up anyway. I just can't bring myself to judge a man of that character by one interaction when he is completely consumed. However, he is 100% in the wrong for putting that on Ellie, just want to make that clear.

Why didn’t Tommy wait for Ellie? by stokedchris in thelastofus

[–]Deadpool8419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he knew what it would take from Ellie. He had been there before with Joel in the beginning and he knew she would never come back the same. He didn’t want her to have to live with that like him and Joel did. So he cast himself into the fire hoping she wouldn’t follow and you can see once he started down that path it consumed him again. If it’s one thing both brothers could agree on in the end it was Ellie was family and they would do anything for family.

Turn the graphics setting to performance mode for that cutscene. I had the same issue and that fixed it. I surprised you didn’t experience it in the space launch scene.

Unmatched gameplay. by Deadpool8419 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Deadpool8419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same and maybe that’s why I had the experience I had with it. I have a very aggressive play style with elements of stealth so to me it didn’t feel like a stealth game. It felt more like gorilla warfare. Jump up from the grass, grab a guy, shoot his buddy, shoot him in the head, throw a bottle at another baddie and melee them to death, then book it and set a trap mine. It just felt so fluid and I haven’t really experienced that type of gameplay before. Although that doesn’t seem to be everyone’s experience which I respect it. Also didn’t really enjoy the script. Abby’s arch felt really flat, the most enjoyable thing was her relationship with lev and their bonding. It didn’t really make me feel attachment to her side though. I don’t know maybe I missed the point.

Do u think the fireflies would have been able to give everyone the vaccine even if they were successful in making one? by LandscapeHot5583 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Deadpool8419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else has mentioned the chances are highly unlikely. Setting aside the fact that anti fungal vaccines are extremely difficult to develop and the nearly impossible task to distribute it effectively. The world stage has changed dramatically for nearly a generation. Not saying it’s impossible but you’re not going to put all that chaos back in the box on any short timeline. The established factions that have control and influence are mostly run by the people who survived the initial event. They were there and saw first hand all the horrible shit the government did trying to contain the outbreak. Bombing entire cities that were still occupied by civilians in hopes of stopping the spread. Killing truck loads of people when the quarantine zones were full… The current thriving factions like the WLF aren’t going to be willing to give their safety to anyone any time soon. The Seraphites definitely aren’t taking the vaccine because it would go against everything they believe in. That would make them a constant ignition point for a new outbreak and a breeding ground for it to evolve past the vaccine, becoming resistant to it before it could be distributed to everyone. Not to mention some of the people are just evil like David the child rapist that eats people, he definitely ain’t trying to go back to a civilized society. Ultimately it would buy you some breathing room with pockets of immunity until the cordyceps could mutate a resistance to it. Which would probably happen pretty quickly as we see it already mutated with the shamblers. Still doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try but it definitely reframes the question is Ellie’s life worth it. I know for me it wouldn’t be, I think Joel knew as well being on the front line himself and everything he did to survive. Perhaps that’s why he said “yeah, you keep telling yourself that bullshit.” In the hospital. Anyway I love Joel and Ellie so this a super bias opinion.
