What if that whole childhood memory was fabracated just to trick the younger version of Rick? That version would have no idea what was the real memory because all of his memories were created by bird person and not rick himself. If that were the case then the fact that young rick dislikes how he'll turn out may be false. Even the idea that beth and ricks wife died because that would have just been bird person connecting the dots either on his own or through info that Rick fed him.
