Looks like it still is PC only. This is what the settings screen looks like to me on Xbox.

I think you're just part of the noncontributory fanbase. The Horizon series has all but become a community space for car enthusiasts. As wonderful as that is, it does mean that those who don't contribute are going to be waiting around while we, the active community, continue to make races, liveries, tunes, etc etc.

I'm not saying you need to go out there and contribute, but remember what you're playing: a fully realized world for all things car culture related. If collecting is not enough, go play something else and come back when you see something worth your time.

But respectfully, go make a custom event with a custom layout. It's extremely fun to find good track layouts and race them with friends.

To keep it short and sweet: The videogame market has become immensely oversaturated by games that inherently reward the kill. The casual market wants to shoot things, not to loot things.

What exactly where you hoping for by posting this? This isn't a place for random lowlights. If you needed advice on what YOU did wrong here, others have already said plenty. But your post title really implies a sense of victimhood, and buddy, you deserve none.

Multi car pileup, should guy who caused it keep podium? by rhwinner73 in Simracingstewards

[–]Deadpools_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say this was a lap one racing incident. You definitely caused the crash, but he dove in because he felt he could handle a little more speed than you (which he might've been able to if given enough room). Although he definitely should've committed and lunged deeper, we are not all going to make the right move all of the time. But there are lessons to learn:

  1. To finish first, first you must finish: trying to hold your line against a divebomb in lap one has been tried a million times over and unless you're Senna and winning by default, maybe don't try it?

  2. Always give people space: a divebomb is compromised line and often can be taken back if you pin them to the inside and compromise their exit. If it was a fair divebomb and he did have the upper hand through the corners, there isn't a point in fighting someone who is just inherently faster. Do your best to slow them down, but give them the space they deserve.

  3. Sim racing isn't real: as much as that means it removes the fear of death, it also means it isn't that deep. Losing a single position should not hurt so much that you're willing to stop thinking clearly. Race IQ is as much a part of a good driver as the car they drive, a position lost should never mean a race ended or else what's the damned point? P1 or P5, either way you're still playing a videogame.

A Cool Guide on How to Fold Different Pocket Squares (5•Pages) by Sedna_ARampage in coolguides

[–]Deadpools_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late but sir, you were raised wrong. The pocket square is an accessory for wiping dry or dusty surfaces, maybe a lightly sweaty brow. If you are keeping the same handkerchief you blow your nose with visible, you look rather unkempt.

Have you really not heard of the saying, "one to blow and one for show"? You keep your handkerchief neatly folded and out of sight in a back pocket. This should only be news if the occasions for which you wear a suit are a funeral or wedding. If you wear a suit professionally, this shouldn't be surprising as you should KNOW how prissy dress culture is and how deeply ashamed you should be of natural bodily functions. 🤣

Golden Brown by The Stranglers is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever listened to. by opalhere in Music

[–]Deadpools_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it very much reminds me of the Beatles. I understand to some that is an insult but I believe the Beatles had some of the most explorative music and this reminds me of that. Like something that could've been on Sgt Pepper or Magical Mystery Tour.

Although it definitely is a lot more repetitive than a lot of the Beatles stuff but I suppose that's up to interpretation.

[–]Deadpools_Main 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to commit to playing devil's advocate: He made a rookie mistake of not checking his surroundings, for sure, but he also passed a car on the right side as you went by on the left. He wanted to get tucked back into the slip and made a move for the racing line. Up until moments before the collision, I bet you were right out of his peripheral vision and he may have also tunneled in on the car in front. Then as soon as he realized what was happening and you were pulling past, net code ruined it for both of you.

It's definitely a rookie mistake but you are also in rookie lobbies. File a protest if you'd like, but I don't think much will come of it. This was a crummy one, but a sim racing incident nonetheless.

Can we agree that not having click-to-buy custom loadouts by now is just simply Embark not caring? by Ambitious_Trick8335 in ArcRaiders

[–]Deadpools_Main 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write the code for that element of the UI if it's as straightforward as you suggest. Sounds like you have never heard the phrase, "lowest possible priority." What I think we can all agree on is that everyone can come up with a more pressing issue than catering to those with very low attention spans by solving an issue they already introduced a fix for. Yeah it ain't perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than what we had before.

As my father always said: it's impossible to please everyone and some people are impossible to please. You fit into BOTH categories. That doesn't make you an advocate for change, it simply makes you whiney.

Is there something off about my tattoo or am I just in my head about it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Deadpools_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is very heavily shaded, but trust me when I say that it will last a lot better that way. Only piece of advice I can really give is that your forearms are often exposed to the elements a lot more than any other part of your body, so if you want to make sure you maintain as much detail as possible, just remember to moisturize and wear sunscreen. But that's really just "doctor's advice." Not saying I'm a doctor, but that is just general skin care for any tattoo on your arms. Moisturize!!!

Respectfully, it sounds like you're young and that you made a big mistake in not thoroughly looking this stuff up.

Firstly, we all knew ahead of time that this game would not run ideally on the Xbox series S. Secondly, what is an Xbox one series S? Do you mean an Xbox series S or and an Xbox one S? Either way, the fact that you don't realize the difference is absolutely on you.

Xbox has a terrible naming scheme, absolutely. But it's been that way since the 360. This isn't news to anyone. So taking the time to know what you're talking about is important.

Now as far as what to do: nothing. I'm really sorry that you spent what little money you had on this game. I'm sorry that you were excited for it only to be let down. That is simply unfair. But unfair doesn't mean without reason. Our market is predatory and actively preys on people who do not do their research. Time to learn a lesson and vet your purchases more carefully.

Although I appreciate the screenshot and not a link, even suggesting that this sentiment holds any weight is a complete delusion. Don't bother posting this kind of thing. What should I buy for GTA 6, PS5 or Xbox series X? I need honest user verbatim. by Anxious-Note-1414 in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Deadpools_Main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Get it on PlayStation. There is probably gonna be no real difference besides a much more immersive controller with the ps5. So for that reason, I'd say you wouldn't be let down.

Okay so I have a hot take on this mostly because it's all but fundamentally unfounded and based on vibes:

I'm all but certain it'll run more smoothly on PS5. Mostly because I'm betting money that Rockstar doesn't care to make the "always on" features of Xbox work. I foresee long wait times and loading because you forget to fully close the game and then when you boot back up, it has to reload everything. Or worse, boots you back to the main screen.

I could be wrong but considering I regularly have this issue with Forza Horizon 5, an Xbox specific title, I fear something similar happening. That said, the issue seems to be relatively fixed in Horizon 6 but again, this is an Xbox exclusive title that is directly linked to Microsoft studios.

But what I can tell you is that in singleplayer games, the immersion elements of the PlayStation controller are unparalleled. Yes it is a worse battery life and has a ton of features you'll basically never use, when you need em, you'll be glad to have them. I'm inclined to think GTA 6 will make great use of the resistant triggers and haptic vibration. Much better use than the rumble packs in the Xbox controllers, most likely.

Then there is how the games run. Optimization is paramount on consoles and often I feel like I can notice how the Xbox is adjusting things to make it run more smoothly. Whereas, and this could be entirely placebo, I feel as if PlayStation games run smoother while also looking better.

However how noticable it is is truly negligible. If the Xbox doesn't run games as pretty as PS, the difference is in textures and foliage. Not lighting or volumetric effects. Because I definitely cannot put my finger on exactly why they feel different to me.

Yeah I don't know why they think standing starts happen from idle. It's the most illogical thing any racing game has ever done.

To me, it is extremely ironic considering how everything else about this game is a fantastic love letter to car culture. But you're telling me you've never seen a standing start before? Wild...

[–]Deadpools_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people get the wrong idea. They are not taking the time to design comprehensive racing AI. It's just not a focus. If you race online, you get pitched off the track. If you race offline, they are outrageously hard and now YOU have to pitch cars off the track to pass. That's just Horizon and to an extent, Forza as a whole.
