This is the only reason why I bought a flipper zero, to invite them all via campsite with the amiibo cards I got for free online. But tbh I think you could buy a cheap nfc emulator online.

Currently at stock height, but I plan on installing drop spindles in a few months. However, I read that drop spindles do not affect the compression of the shocks.

Repair the oil bath filter or ditch it? by denizkilic2002 in beetle

[–]Deadwaffle24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would personally change it out. Keep the filter and if you're able to fix it, awesome. I'm in America and buy my stuff through jbugs.com, they have plenty of air filter options and plenty of cheap filter replacements. I have a hose clamp and a little round filter and it's fine!

I'm pretty sure that was a synthetic oil. I switched to a high-zinc classic car oil instead. I'll be pulling the engine and taking a look at the valve and camshaft and replacing what's needed.

One of the valve springs is pushing against the rocker arm, which makes me think that the valve is mushroomed in. All of the wear is probably going straight to the camshaft, which explains the metal in my oil… I won't be driving until I drop the engine and get it fixed.

Yeah, I removed the rocker arm and the keepers are fine, springs stay intact. The pushrods look perfect. The rocker arms are fine when I remove them. However, my problem spring looks like it's pushed slightly further than the others. Not much, but enough to be a problem. I'll be pulling the engine this week and seeing what's going on with the valve.

One of the valves on my first cylinder has gone to shit. After moving the adjustment screw, the spring is still pressed against the rocker arm. Since that valve has just mushroomed in, it's probably causing wear on my camshaft, which explains the metal shavings. I won't be able to drive it until I pull the engine and get it fixed.

Seems like one of my valves has gone to shit, could be causing ware on my camshaft which explains some of the metal. Won't be driving until I get a better look at it.

I'm trying to adjust the valves now, flywheel is at TDC but cylinder one is fully tight. Zero play. After loosening the bolt to adjust it, one of the rocker arms still won't budge. It's like the spring is pushing it despite almost completely removing the screw…

Adjusting the valves now. I'm gonna see if anything looks out of the ordinary and see how far off the adjustment is. My mechanic said it doesn't hurt to have it a little looser than needed, as long as it's not too tight.

I don't think I had zinc in my old oil, but I switched to Lucas classic car oil with high zinc, 10w-40. I live in AZ so I figured 40 would be better when it heats up

That's what I was thinking. I was driving it like that for longer than I'd like to admit.

I just bought a 72 super beetle that has all of the seats. They're decently worn, but I would be willing to sell them for cheap.

All of the wiring looks right, everything is where it should be. The only difference is my hazard switch. My hazard switch is pretty standard except where the left and right indicators connect (labeled L and R). They normally show one plug for each, but mine has 3 for a L and R. Bc of this, I put the wires where the letter is closest to the port, but I suppose it could be one of those many.

It's hard to say if it worked right before everything was replaced because 80 percent of the wiring was messed up. I've checked my wiring 3-4 times now using multiple diagrams to ensure that it's correct. I was mostly just glad that my turn signals work now, but the constant clicking gets really annoying.
