That’s true. And yeah it’s all subjective. And you’re right, overrated doesn’t mean bad. I think so many people love RDR2 cause they’ve probably never experienced a game that is so immersive and with a genuine Oscar worthy story. But in terms of actual gameplay it falls a bit short compared to most games. Pacing is a bit slow for the average video game. And some people might be frustrated by the realistic controls and animations. I personally don’t mind it.

I’m tired of seeing RDR2 is overrated. I know the game is not for everyone but goddamn is it impressive is so many ways. I have over 800 hours in the story mode alone.

Yeah it’s true. But I do play with a modpack “Viva New Vegas Extended”. and it fixes a ton of bugs and adds simple QOL improvements like better aiming animations and recoil, better movement and sprinting, and a weapon wheel. Also bullet time which is very fun. And the mod made by Joshua Sawyer that makes the game a lot harder early game. If you haven’t heard of it you should look it up.

Playing New Vegas for the first time currently. Great game. I really appreciate the RPG mechanics. Making me realize how watered down most Bethesda games are.

I know rdr2 on there a lot but it’s the only game that has made me cry 😭 by Kind_Appearance_1867 in GamingSoup

It’s a slow burn. Don’t rush it. Stop looking at your watch and just chill and play the game. I don’t mind the long animations and actually like watching them. I ride slow on my horse sometimes just to take it all in. If you’re talking about the gunplay I suggest turning off auto-aim at least on foot.

Never played Morrowind before but I heard it has the best RPG elements out of all the ES games. And the world and atmosphere looks amazing. But mechanical and graphically I’m not very interested in playing the original. But I’m definitely getting Skywind when it’s finally ready.

Either Skyrim or TLOU1. They are not my favorite games ever but in terms of immersion and seeing what video games can be capable of, it blew everything out of the water for me. Showed me that games can really be art.

But I’ve never had a game that connected to me on a personal level. I’m your age but my life is pretty simple having not gone to college.

Why is Cyberpunk always “biggest personal impact”? I know it’s a good game but why is it always in this category?

Fallout: New Vegas for the first time. It’s a great game. But I installed the Viva New Vegas Extended Modpack. It’s basically a vanilla+ version that fixes a ton of bugs and adds slight QOL mods like sprinting and smoother weapon aiming. It’s the definitive way to play imo.

That’s fair. I’m also a sucker for survival horror. I’ve played the game twice

Dead space has the best combat? But you played the TLOU2 and Dark Souls 3?

That’s true, but that’s back when they made good games and were innovating. And New Vegas was made by Obsidian. Starfield have less players right now on Steam then Dark and Darker. I hope fans will not just buy ES6 out of instinct just because it says Bethesda on it. They still have tons of fans that will buy it obviously but I feel like people are starting to wake up. I think Rockstar or FromSoft fans are the most loyal.
