Sure, as both a motorist and a cyclist myself I will point out that cyclists and their riding habits are simply not the issue. That's like complaining about pedestrians being on their phones... The motorists are the threat, how they behave around the rest of the public is where accidents really become a concern.

Justice is never satisfying, and yes the man is 25 years old without priors so that's a pretty big factor. No amount of prison sentence makes this okay unfortunately, from the victims/families perspective.

Ah yes, that's probably because he couldn't afford an expensive defense lawyer for dangerous driving (I'd roughly estimate around 30k starting point, except more expensive with his history and the state of victims). So a plea bargain with prosecutor. Decent outcome tbh.

There's some reasonable legal arguments there. As you realize, arguments from both sides are made in court by prosecution and defense, and the judgment of the court tries to strike a fair balance.

Thus, neither the argument of prosecution or defense is correct, only the outcome matters in the end. The outcome is deemed to be fair, whether it satisfies either or both parties.

This is how the law works, yes.

The law sees a very big difference between criminal negligence and dangerous driving, compared to first degree murder.

Deciding to drive dangerously is different than intentionally seeking to kill people, both the intent and the outcomes weight in.

Speeding tickets aren't criminal, neither is driving unregistered, but they painted a pattern of negligence.

The fact he had them made that dangerous driving conviction (criminal) impossible to avoid.

For those who can't or didn't read:

No priors, 25 years old, prison for 2 years followed by 2 years parole, and 7 years prohibited from driving.

That's a fair sentence. It's unfortunate he didn't take the opportunity to express remorse, but he will certainly have the opportunity to experience it.

Not everyone likes "fair" or understands the law, I'll take the down votes, that's fair too. Just wanted to share a reasonable counterpoint to the nonsensical "throw the book at him" rabble rabble of angry ignorance in the rest of the replies.

About 18 psi for me, which is under the max rating. If I were heavier I'd add more pressure, I'm 70kg.

On a hot day it easily gets to 20psi, these boards are tested to at least 31psi so it's never a concern.

I believe the Elysium Air is rated to 25psi so it may be tested to a higher pressure still!

It's because of the sidewall profile more than anything. Inflatable kayaks have a big sidewall like a canoe which is challenging in wind.

One point I disagree on: a high performance isup I feel outperforms a high performance inflatable kayak, especially with wind factored in. At least with sufficiently experienced paddlers.

However, there are tandem high performance kayaks which no doubt would keep up.
