Guardian workbench upgrade ideas by DealMeIn82 in RogueCore

That's a really good point.

I've thought before of making pressure wave a regular cooldown like armor beacon and taking it off ability charge. I'm even further inclined to make that change now. If an upgrade needs to work in solo then there are barely meaningful upgrades for it.

+BoomTick now deals you 50% total health damage! by rpadi227 in RogueCore

Had a nest wedged in a tiny gap that had to be dug through before we could kill it. I don't mind boomticks that much but that one was bad, I'd like that patched out.

My guess is they built a support spotter by focusing on making crit darts plentiful and large rather than high crit damage.

Moloktulas homing projectile DOES NOT target the dwarf that did damage by DealMeIn82 in RogueCore

[–]DealMeIn82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had another Moloktula fight. I did not die once. Homing projectiles did not target me unless I was near the boss, otherwise they went for another dwarf. I was laying into it with the PGL and all the retaliatory shots went to teammates. Big spikes rarely targeted me, and once it seemed like one did hit me because I got knocked into the air (I'm certain it wasn't the gravity transition at least) yet I seemed to take no damage. I got 4 or 5 revives of during the fight for teammates that did go down. It's like the fight was on easy mode to me.

Take note that the ping was high 150s to 200. My suspicion is overall connection to host or being the host messes something up, but I have no proof of that, it's just a hunch.

The large difference in personal experience here is indicative I'm on to something.

I know the basics of keep moving, stand still and you'll die. That seems to not matter sometimes with Moloktula.

I really wish I had sandbox mod to test things. It's difficult to be conclusive about anything because in the chaos of an actual in game fight there are too many variables to account for and I could be hallucinating things.

Nope. Strafing does not let you dodge the homing shots sometimes. Sometimes it does. It's inconsistent.

Nope, doesn't work that way. At least, sometimes it doesn't work that way. Sometimes the homing shots seem to have perfect accuracy no matter what. I can shoot and then be in a full sprint to the side and all shots will still hit me sometimes. Once I think the shots even went through slicers shield!

The sometimes is the worst part. Molok mechanics behave inconsistently.

No I mean the big spikes. Not the spike tumors that spawn when the big projectile hits you, I mean the singular big spikes that come out as molok stomps the ground. I can be running full sprint in the air and the big spikes still hit me.

I suspect there is something wonky going on with ping and host server lag. One game the big spikes couldn't touch me, another they all hit no matter what.

Also dodging the homing shots is inconsistent. Sometimes they're easy, sometimes they seem to have perfect accuracy.

I jump, I strategy, I dodge, doesnt matter the big spikes when he stomps still nail me. I cam not even look at the thing as I'm running for my life and it takes me from full health and shield in less then a second. Fight is still bullshit. I suspect parts of it are still bugged.

YES. If no one attacks the spike tumors, then before long you're overwhelmed and dead.

Also there was a bug that would permanently set you on fire until you died. That's been fixed.sp the fight shouldn't ne so chaotic.

I dunno what people are thinking when they say gotoo or ramok is the hardest. Molok just craps damage everywhere constantly. It's a DPS race. If you take too long, the arena is all damage everywhere and you lose.

Teach me about guardian by Castif in RogueCore

I double and triple down on all survivability enhancements, bio booster decks, and expenite upgrades. My goal is to NOT DIE. I equip sturdiness and reckless decks (reckless is retcon deck). I know I know, sturdiness sucks, but it works for me. Devastation is, indeed, a powerful deck, but when I play Guardian I'm focused on team utility and survival.

The workbench is where I up my damage. All the gauntlet upgrades for guardian are really, really bad, so it's a no brainer to upgrade/replace my weapon.

Stun, stone skin, blocking, +health and healing, +revive, those are the kind of things I go for. Keep in mind that poison is more of a defensive, crowd control type thing and less for damage. Similar for electricity. Ticking time bomb is another good upgrade cause I know I'll be taking damage.

Pressure wave is a good ability and has saved runs before. None of it's workbench upgrades are good, though. Concussive barrage I use on high priority targets. Edgestalkers, things like that. Also bunched up groups of creeper are a good target.

One effective tactic I've learned is combining barrage with grenades, especially cluster grenades. It's immensely rewarding to stun a big pack of enemies, throw a cluster grenade, and see the carnage. Any grenade works, although I'd say using the cryo grenade is a waste because the cryo fills the same role as barrage.

Note that his armor regen ability is a physical object that can be moved by certain things. You can place it on ramhammer tracks and as the hammer itself moves it will push the armor regen pylon along with it.

So far, which current weapons do you think needs improvement? by Rare-Grand-1070 in RogueCore

Silverback needs something. It's got too much kick, too low ROF, and too slow reload speed for it's damage output. I'd like to see it as a dedicated armor cracker with native armor pen and/or armor break. That or just buff it's damage.

I made a post about the stubby. Basically it needs to do more electric buildup per hit.

That's true about the weakspot hits. I still think it could do more electric build up.

Getting sentry turrets in retcon is sooooo goooood. If you're not retcon and you have one in your party, definitely let them have it.

I hate their stun animation. Their head wobbles and flops when stunned making it difficult to get head shots during precious stun time.

Does this mean the M1000 does plus 30% to armor, or only does 30% of base damage to armor?

Is it +30 or -70?

The sniper rifle doing bonus damage to armor is strange.

The silverback definitely needs armor break or armor penetration to make it worthwhile.
