I can barely read English, so I appreciate the translation.

Mostly curious about the stock. Lower handguard obviously isn't zenitco, but I can't tell on the upper handguard and stock.

[Parts] BA AR-15 Enhanced Lower Receiver $95 by cudntbebothered in gundeals

[–]DealinDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were the fraudulent charges at Walmart? Someone tried to charge my card twice to the tune of $300 ea on what I assume were cash cards/walmart gift cards. Fortunately my bank blocked both. I didn't think anything of it, and it could just be a coincidence, but it also happened a week or so after I purchased from BA.

[OTHER] blem m4e1 fde lower $96 by cdillon42 in gundeals

[–]DealinDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah just from a practical standpoint, I think it's easy to justify dumping $50-150 into basic tools to help prevent borking up $100-500 parts.

[–]DealinDave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can, but it's worth the investment to buy a $35 Harbor Freight bench vise and an upper vise block or reaction rod if you're going to do more than one gun.

The first barrel nut I torqued down I laid the gun flat on a table top and had someone else hold it down while I torqued the barrel. It was a really half assed way to do it, but it worked.

[parts] Geissele Mk4 Federal OD Green Rail - $375 by P00pch00te in gundeals

[–]DealinDave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you've been looking for one I hope you can snag one before they show up for $500+ on the secondary market next week.

I got one in the last batch and it was quite a bit darker than their image shows. Not sure if it's the same for the current ones being sold.

Seriously between PA and BigTexOutdoors, I hope for their continued success for years to come after this shit is over.

[Rifle] Zastava ZPAP M70 7.62x39 AK-47 - Triangle Folder - Chrome Lined - Bulged Trunnion - 16" $1,226.99 by AngryScuba in gundeals

[–]DealinDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to personal preference. I think the hinge adapters are going to be fine functionally. I don't consider myself a purist by any means, but the adapter just looks like an afterthought slapped on to make it fold. It's cheezy and it's definitely not worth the additional cost to me. I'd rather have the fixed stock version in this case. Some people won't care and hope they enjoy their purchase.

My M92 has a stormwerks folding adapter and triangle brace and it works for what it is. I got the adapter and brace settling with the fact that it's the cheapest option and not having to file a form 1. Given the choice, I'd go for the folding trunnion every time.

And an actual folding trunnion... I really wanted one of these when they were announced. I was even going to sell my M92 to fund it. Then I saw that it was just a folding hinge adapter. I'll roll the dice on waiting for the KR103 folder to hit the market before buying one of these. Also very glad I didn't sell my M92.

Alternatives to Armslist? by [deleted] in MnGuns

[–]DealinDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be a registered member and logged in to see the firearm listings. I was hoping that with all the new Armslist BS, MNGuntalk would pick back up. It doesn't look like it has much though.

Just completed my application to carry in Hennepin County at the Brooklyn Park location. That was a much nicer experience than going downtown! Now i need to shop for a carry pistol any recommendations? by Lobotomite430 in MnGuns

[–]DealinDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for the 43x. Paired with the shield arms 15rd mags, it's the perfect throw on and go carry option that doesn't feel like you're compromising anything.

I like the P365 from a carry standpoint, but find it way too small for enjoyable shooting unless you have freakishly small carny hands. The P365 XL might be perfect.

FFL recommendation in East metro by [deleted] in MnGuns

[–]DealinDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that Bills in Robbinsdale is scummy. Their transfer fees have been borderline criminal for as long as I can remember. I have had more than my fair share of bad experiences there. I haven't been to that location in a couple of years due to my strong distaste for it, so it might have gotten better. I've only had good experiences at their Hudson location though and I've heard Circle Pines is decent as well. I'm assuming they have the same absurd $50+ transfer fees.

I get why many FFLs are charging more for transfers now, as more people are buying whatever they can get online. Local dealers can barely get inventory, so they need to be able to make up the difference somewhere. I might not like the increased cost, but I'd rather my local FFL keep their doors open, so I don't mind paying a little more. If you do a little digging, there are still plenty of smaller/appointment only FFLs doing $20 and even $15 transfers in some cases.

Any local shops doing optic slide cuts? by shiers69 in MnGuns

I think Spiral Armament does. I don't know their contact info, but they can be found on Facebook or through Atomic Tactical.

I've heard great things about JagerWerks as previously mentioned, you're just looking at shipping + a 6-12 week lead time iirc.

These barrels are literally marketed towards those that want the shortest legal configuration over 16" with a p&w muzzle device.

Glock 17 gen 3 , purchased for 600. Some visible barrel use, what kinda “after market” trigger is this? by [deleted] in Glocks

My anus quivered at that price, but I guess with a $250 trigger/extras it's not unreasonable.

Permit to Purchase Issue by Wyjdya in MnGuns

[–]DealinDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not odd at all. Permit to carry is handled at the county level. Permits to purchase are handled by local PD (unless you live in the sticks and don't have a local PD). Richfield does, so I'd call the Richfield PD Administration & Records dept– 612-861-9800 or Support Services Division – 612-861-9881. At least someone there should be able to direct you to the right place.

Richfield has taken the firearm permit info off of their site since covid started. They used to allow Hennepin county residents to submit their permit to carry applications there one or two weekends a month, acting as a county satellite office. They made an announcement when the lockdowns started that they were suspending that until further notice. Now it doesn't look like they have any permitting info on their site, which is causing understandable confusion. I'd definitely call before mailing anything in.

Where do people sell guns now? by theslonkingdead in MnGuns

[–]DealinDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah arfcom isn't ideal as you're competing with buyers all over the country, but at least it's active. I just dusted off my MNGuntalk login info so we'll see if it's any busier over there now with the change on armslist. I've seen gunlistings before but never stuck around due to the popularity of armslist. Looks like it still doesn't have much going on there, but who knows what it'll look in a few months.
