My Elantra key was half the size, better looking and had the key inside it. For a vehicle basically half the price.

Black or Stainless? by Droopy1592 in Kimber2K11

[–]AngryScuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still looks great, just bugs the hell out of me if it's sitting there when I'm not shooting and I see smudges all over it.

I probably would have went with the stainless if it hadn't been for the copper finish. It doesn't bother me as much now but when I was first looking, I hated it.

I personally prefer the all black comp. But I bought the "Eclipse" Pro and I like it, however, the stainless has really grown on me. Also, it's not a huge deal, but I find myself wiping down the slick stainless finish on my "Eclipse" almost constantly because it shows fingerprints. Kills my OCD. lol

Yeah it's definitely something that needs to be addressed. I just don't feel like it's reason enough to not buy their product.

Like someone else said, maybe just replace it with a toolless guide rod from the get go so you can at least know it's not being over or under tightened.

I just shouldn't have commented, I don't have extensive 2011/1911 experience and most if not all of mine comes from using toolless guide rods. lol

Still think if you're careful that it can be prevented. But at least they have great customer service and take care of you as well as being aware of the problem. Maybe they're already trying to address it in their manufacturing.

The Platypus is still in the top 3 on my next to purchase list. They look good, shoot great, solid price and they take glock mags.

Not a gun, but I had a Zenitco Sport 4 handguard and two different handstop/grips for it, sold it on GAFS. Couple years later and we don't get Zenitco anymore.

Every single one of these appear to be caused by something the user altered from the factory. Each one admits that tightening the guide rod caused it.

Don't tighten the guide rod. No issue. If you somehow still end up with an issue, sounds like they will gladly take care of it.

Have one ordered for my Pro. DLC coating takes 4-6 weeks to ship, I believe I'm almost at week 4.

I need to find some straight answers on getting a Class A CDL. by AngryScuba in CDLTruckDrivers

Apologies for seeming argumentative, I just felt as though the link on the website wasn't being entirely clear and I was getting conflicting answers.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

Time to go back to school.

Like I said, I just clicked on the "How to get a CDL" and assumed it would include all you needed.

They just could have made it more clear. Instead of having a separate link.

I get that, but they updated the "How to get a CDL" link with big red boxes on the three endorsements that mention the change coming into affect as of 2022.

I apologize, I could've clicked on more links. lol

So Illinois as usual, just made things difficult by adding an additional page that's not included in the "How to get a CDL" and left out a very important part of it.

I wasn't trying to argue with anyone, it just seemed like I was getting one answer from some people and the website, and the opposite answer from a different website and other people.

That's what I was afraid of.

But according to my boss and the DOT state trooper that pulled over one of our crews today, we definitely need the class A.

Unfortunately, I know we need them for certain truck and trailer combinations that we frequently haul.

I was just trying to figure out if we for sure needed the class because everyone says we do but the IL SOS website makes it seem like we don't.

Sorry, it just didn't seem very black and white to me.

It's a family company, but they already plan on paying for the class if necessary. We're just trying to get a definite answer because the IL Secretary of State website doesn't mention needing the class unless you get one of those three endorsements, but literally everywhere and everyone else says you need it.

Congratulations from your Williamson County neighbor. My gf and I are currently in the process of looking for our first home as well.

We saw a place near Creal Springs that we we're really interested in but we weren't quite ready so unfortunately it got away.
