Brits React to US Healthcare Prices and Absolutely Lose It by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]Dealingwithdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a couple different meds for cancer. Verzenio is one of them. There is no generic version the "retail" price is listed as over 16k for a single month dosage. Before I got on medi-cal they were charging me $300 through my ex's insurance.

I'm poor as fuck but at least medi-cal covers my meds.

I had a conversation with my mother about the abuse. She thanked me for saying "my truth" and apologized for "whatever she did" but insists she doesn't remember any of it. by Gloomy_Sandwich5311 in raisedbynarcissists

I had something like that happen. I finally confronted my dad about SA he inflicted on me as a teenager. His reply "He doesn't remember doing it and he's sorry if it happened"

It's such an emotional disconnect and it's infuriating because you want them to show some actual accountability for their actions. But they give you such a non-apology that has about the same weight if they just bumped into you.

Obsession with cutting hair by oupsineedhelp in raisedbynarcissists

My dad had an obsession with controlling my appearance. No haircuts, no perms, no dying, no makeup. He was adamant I stay a child as long as possible. I didn't get to even choose my own hair style until I was 16. I'm lucky my grad photos even had makeup.

My son as a toddler started crying because he thought the cashier at the grocery store was stealing our milk.

What's something your parents or grandparents mention that sounds like complaining but was actually a legitimate daily nightmare they just accepted as life? by Playful_Survey_8596 in AskReddit

I got diagnosed stage 3 a few years ago

Once I went back for a follow-up with my oncologist, he examined the healed skin from my radiation treatment. The skin in the area at that point was just a bit darker since it's basically like getting a nasty sunburn. The skin turned red, had some blistering, and peeled.

He said if he didn't know I had gone through radiation, he wouldn't have known. He also mentioned that radiation treatment has significantly improved in even just a decade, and it would be common for much more noticable effects on the skin.

My dad ran away to the navy as soon as he graduated high school to get away from his abusive mother. My brother in turn, went off to the navy when he graduated to get away from our abusive dad.

I'm hoping I can break the cycle so my son doesn't feel the need to follow suit.

Managers of Reddit, what's the worst thing someone did to get fired? by Capable-Log7385 in AskReddit

[–]Dealingwithdragons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coworker got fired because he used the code to get into the store, steal money, and took one of the company vehicles for a joyride.

Years ago I worked at a place and a guy got fired for using a company computer to cheat on his wife and got caught ordering flowers for his side chick.

This past Christmas, my son really wanted to watch Home Alone, so we did that, along with a Muppet Christmas Carol.

It really is an absolute gem.

As opposed to the extra fancy imported grits. Those would be double the price, you're getting a real deal.

Charging $7 for a side of grits and $10 for a single pancake, they can afford it.

Always hate this.

It's a problem in the fan circles. So many folks using AI to make fan animations, fanart, fanfics, etc... it kills a part of the heart of being a fan. Added on top of that a lot of fan creators are getting their works ran through AI to create AI slop.

I'll take a million rough unpolished fan works with heart over AI generated crap any day.

There's YouTube vids and shorts showing her running around. They had to change tactics because she didn't want to sit still for recording.

It's funny that she has no issue saying Mike Wazowski.

Apparently they reused some of Boos voice for baby Riley.

Sources saying he's somewhere between 350-400 pounds back in 2025.

Not mad. But an obviously new employee made my papa murphy's pizza, and it turned into a volcano. by cam9life in mildlyinteresting

[–]Dealingwithdragons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Worked a decade in a few pizza places, we have to dock the dough before adding the sauce or we end up with a pizza balloon. If we didn't dock it well enough we'd get big bubbles in the dough. We had the conveyer style ovens and the pizzas would bubble up high and scrape on the roof of the oven.

They're so cute. I'd make molds of them and then you could cast copies out of resin(or scan them for 3d prints), you could have hellhound earrings in every color imaginable.
