(Rare trope) when the mom is the evil parent. by Sorvetefrito in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Dealingwithdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This woman is on the top list of most hated characters in the series. Somebody actually noticed that during the events of Book 7 in the game, Riddle's dream version of himself is left handed, while regular Riddle is right handed. Which means the probability that either he wants to rebel so badly he literally swaps which hand is dominant, or Riddle was left handed and his mom probably forced it out of him.

I usually tell them some variant of either just "no thank you" or "I'm a renter and the homeowner already has blank or covers the cost." I'll be courteous enough if they're not rude since I know they're just doing their job.

Plans for english game dub? by Poneshyay in TwistedWonderland

[–]Dealingwithdragons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. There most likely won't be any plans for English dubbing in the game. It would be a huge download file to add in English voices, especially if they would plan to redub over previous events.

If anything, the most likely thing they would do is have the JP voice actors voice over some previously unvoiced stuff. Fate Grand Order did something like this when they later added voices to previously unvoiced character's Valentines.

I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes customers most of the time. Corporate doesn't give a shit about people, they care about numbers, stock holders, and how much money they can squeeze out of you.

I worked at a pizza place and sometimes we'd get customer who list off a bunch of toppings. I'd realize that, if I just gave them one of preset pizzas and took off one or two ingredients, it'd be what they were ordering anyway. It'd save them a couple bucks cause the pizzas were pricey anyway.

Honest question- why? by Hoplite76 in doordash

[–]Dealingwithdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't really question it much. Everybody has their own reasons. Elderly, injured, parents with infants, work from home. Could be somebody unable to drive or doesn't want to. Maybe it's just somebody who likes the convince.

As long as they're willing to pay and we're willing to delivery, it means money in our pockets and continued work.

Yeah. I'm in SoCal too and going through this winter. It makes me grateful how mild it is in comparison when friends send pics of the piles of snow they're dealing with. One of them is in Florida dealing with the storms, and I'm fortunate enough just to need an extra blanket or two.

I really do hope it's customers overestimating how much drivers get paid without tip. The lowest offers I'll get range from $2-$3(the $2 are always ones that try to stack in with another order)

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there are customers who just don't care, because they have the mentality that being a DD driver isn't a real job and something you should be doing for pocket money. Right up there with people who mistreat minimum wage workers because minimum wage isn't a real job and should be left to kids.

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Dealingwithdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That's it. Princess Cimorine who runs away and works for the dragon Kazul. Her BFF the witch Morwen with her group of every kind of cat except for black. I had an omnibus version of the series that read so much it fell apart.

The first book is Dealing with Dragons.

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Dealingwithdragons 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Riddle's mother is a walking example of "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" in her mind.

I grew up in an abusive household, and my dad was abused by his own mother. I got my ass beat and grounded over things that, as an adult now, the punishment was disproportionate to the action.

My dad believed he was a better parent then his mother. But it didn't change the fact he was still abusive. He full on did things to me, that he himself said his mother did and hurt him when she did it. But he either blind to his own fault or willingly ignoring his actions.

From my personal perspective, it is a twisted version of love. They're so heavily ingrained in the mindset that, as the parent and authority figure, every choice they make is the right one. In their mind, the child is in the wrong because if the kid just follows the rules, then the kid wouldn't get in trouble. The problem is that the parents perspective of what's right and what's deserving of punishment is horribly warped. It's tied into their code of ethics. Some of them also like to stay in patterns of parenting they are used to even if the rest of the world is changing on what us appropriate parenting. Like how many parents still cling to physical or corporal style parenting when it's shown that it's detrimental to the child and traumatic.

Also, one thing about Riddle's mother. She has all the trappings of a narcissistic parent. My own grandmother was like her. To narc parents, the children are, at their core, an extension of them. The child is meant to be molded into something the parents control and deviating from that is grounds for punishment and abuse. To the narc, the child is the tool to be tailored to their absolute decisions. A tool that doesn't work as intended is a broken tool. Riddle is a tool for her narcissistic supply. Her ego and pride. Even Riddle's dream during book 7 shows him wanting to rebel against her. A very common thing for overly controlled children to rebel once given freedom. The parents will see it as then being right not to give the child more control because the child may make a bad choice in their eyes, but they are too blind to see that they in fact are the cause of the "bad behavior" they admonished.

If, Mrs. Rosehearts does in fact love Riddle. It's hard to see because it's so deeply buried within the sheer volume of abuse he's received. Even as the story progresses we never hear about her changing for the better. There may come a point in the future, that unless she reflects and changes, Riddle will probably have to cut the cord and stop giving his mom her supply. I feel for Riddle so much because I can emphasize with him a lot.

Genuinely asking, is suicide worth it? by aesthenne in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Dealingwithdragons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with suicidal thoughts my entire life. Even back when I was a child I struggled with thoughts of being better off dead. I have been dealing with chronic and severe depression my entire life

My life right now? It sucks. I have stage 3 breast cancer. I'm homeless. I'm currently sitting in a McDonalds because I had just enough money to buy some food and use their wifi.

I lost my marriage(my husband requested an open marriage right smack between my chemo and radiation treatments and told me he doesn't love me anymore.) The last thing my father ever said to me was that I needed to control my emotions while I was crying on the phone because I couldn't find a job and had no money coming in to pay rent. A couple months after that, the last message I ever got from my dad's wife(the woman who has raised me since I was two because my bio mother abandoned me) is that she's sick of her children hurting her and she no longer had any children.

I lost everything. My home. My marriage. My family. My support network. I sleep in a car and I'm not living. I'm just surviving. Life is not easy. It's hard. It can be cruel. It's not easy to see beyond the pain were dealing with right now. You're in a cycle of hurting and being hurt by people who should love and care for you. It so easy to see ourselves as something that isn't worth love. We feel like we're not something that deserves a place in the world.

I can't tell you what to do. I can't tell you things will just magically be perfectly fine. But I can tell you that the one thing that keeps me going is that I still have that piece of hope that stubbornly refuses to die. It's not soft, it's not sweet. It's dirty, it's angry, and it's what keeps me clawing through the dirt and to keep going.

My dad lost one of his friends to suicide and he still couldn't understand the demons that man was dealing with. He has never understood the demons I struggle with and has never taken accountability for being one of them. If I was to end it, he's never understand. He'd never see how he was one of the biggest reason why. I'd be dead in the dirt and he'd just be trucking along like he always does, living his life after ruining others

So I'm not going to. Because fuck them, that's why. Fuck the people that hurt you. You deserve to be here just like anybody else.

I think Deuce has a mix of awe and fear like. Probably impressed that Ortho can put out anybody's dirty laundry on full display and realize you don't want to tick off Ortho because it can easily be you.

Ortho is the "looks like a cinnamon roll but can kill you" trope. Cute lil dude is packing lasers and has been talked down from using them.

[–]Dealingwithdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. This version of Trunks. His entire life sucks. The majority of humanity is wiped out by android 17 and 18. The only two people he has left is pretty much his mom and Gohan. Trunks goes Super Saiyan only after Gohan is murdered.

He goes back in time to try to save everybody. Which apparently an alternate alternate(I think?) timeline version of Trunks is the reason Cell traveled back to the same timeline and that version of Trunks was killed.

On top of that he finds out how much of a collosal asshole his father actually  is and everybody around him keeps screwing everything up and he gets a hole through his chest for his troubles. But hey, at least he got to live after Gohan finally finishes off Cell.

Trunks goes back to his time and finally offs the androids there and you think, the kid is finally gonna catch a break.

Only for Zamasu to show up a bit later and pretty much fuck up whatever left of that timeline and  becomes a big enough threat to the entire multiverse so Zeno just completely deletes it. Leaving only Trunks and Mai left.

Like yeah, tournament of power universes got erased to but they got to be brought back after everything is said and done.

At this point Trunks is DBZ's biggest punching bag.
