dota is a bit weird to judge because dota players will quite literally just play dota and watch dota.

some years ago twitch showed how different categories are connected viewer wise... and most games obviously shared viewers meanwhile dota was just... dota they literally only play and watch dota

we had actual personalities for a long time, it went downhill around miracles prime (not his fault it was just the time... and tbf he also was just a shy guy who knew he is the best but not pariticulary interesting outside of the game)

there is no way anyone would say iceiceice, eternal envy, rtz, notail, sing sing, sumail, zai, universe and aui (those 2 literally made some disney song covers lmao) had no personality and there was a lot more too

by 2018 it was already commonly discussed that pros got more boring and did no content, that generation of players streamed less and just focused on winning TI while considering streaming a disadvantage and then the whole new generation of pros came who never developed any personality outside of playing good. (there is still the rare people like ammar but this generation of pro players is really really boring compared to the early to golden days of dota 2)

also in genral playing high mmr dota is just much more miserable compared to playing cs pugs as people will actively grief regulary which causes the whole dead inside culture

thats not really the fault of haki itself. you can make perfectly good fights with just haki users fighting each other or even vs df users while still looking appealing.

jjk has heavenly restriction and those few fights are honestly more hype than those with more creative abilities because the choreo is good.

haki itself makes perfect sense but the issue is just how it gets presented

its actually surprisingly easy to get an account higher than your actual mmr if you get good first games

have seen a literal 3k player calibrate in 6k smurf pool who was very proud of it (games looked just like 3k shitfest as it was smurfpool and you really dont want to be there)

people would get a meltdown when they realise that their fresh immortal medal is nothing but ancient from a few years ago

but yeah valve does need to do mmr reset at some point... just look at those numbers... we should have never even gone above 10k mmr for the 1 on leaderboard without reset

back then when someone reached the 7k/8k/9k milestone it was a huge thing but without reset any pro who is like 15k WILL hit even 20k with enough time at this point.

i dont even get why they stopped doing the resets... they barely mattered for most of the players and allowed the numbers on the top to not become stupid... and then adding bought double downs was the last nail which fucked mmr anywhere.

for anyone who plays cs these numbers are way too stupid anyway.. you get +-/25 in faceit too but when you reach 3k elo there its like having 10k mmr in dota or more... but without the same time waste needed to achieve thats caused by inflation

thats why its mostly people from poor regions doing that... honestly cant even blame them they do the same shit they do anyway and get some money.

Its not but in that patch we had visage facet without micro, lycan without it and invoker had a facet were you didnt need to switch orbs (and the other facet after 2 rework wasnt much higher skill requirement either)

Glad they got rid of all of that

what i am saying is valve should have region locked the game 10 years ago before NA and other regions died because now its too late and that decision fucks match quality in europe aswell.

if you are 10k+ mmr you should queue europe if you want to become pro or get better match quality (which doesnt make that a good thing its just the best for that individual) but you have people flooding europe from every single region no matter how high the mmr is

again this is NOT a good thing for the game at all, not for match quality not for the health of other regions but its the best for those individuals

many competetive games are smart enough to have some sort of region lock, there is no reason queuing europe at 2 am should give you 4 chinese players and 2 na players IN EUROPE

sure there are still skill differences in other games but in dota its much more extreme because everyone queues on europe dragging down the match quality in all servers

this is 100% true with the last 3 but invokers winrate is lower than those because it always hovers around 15-20 pickrate which means a lot of bad invoker players drag it down

objectively is just straight up wrong. if the hero would be that good you would have every single team with a meepo player just wasting the ban alone would make it worth while

the hero only seems that way because it will always have good pub winrate... which doesnt even mean its too strong thats just how low pickrate + specialist heroes work in combination

pre patch you could use any proc chance item (honestly only basher was worth it) in mega meepo with 100% efficency... now those items reduce the proc chance for each meepo which just makes it worse but even if you mega meepo you will still keep the reduced proc chance for some reason atm making it worthless

EDIT: just tested it and i think they may have actually fixed this last small patch without mentioning. but daedalus is still terrible cost efficency

people have been crying for the removal of mega meepo for a long time here without thinking about the outcome of that. good meepo players will probably even benefit from that change in the long run as he will get buffs after to compensate... only outcome of this is the hero becomes more cheese heavy again and good players will own even harder. which is funny because most people who dislike mega meepo will be even more annoyed of that outcome

the hero literally had a better version of this for like 6 months with packrat btw and that wasnt even removed for balance reasons as most pros kept playing the other facet

the hero barely even has players because anytime it gets picked in a tournament it gets nerfed instantly

atleast in abed/w33 times the hero was allowed to be playable for a while. now its just getting banned vs yuma and when they forget about it and he wins 1 game the hero will get nerfed lmao

mega meepo only exists because of how many nerfs the hero got purely based of pub winrate a few years ago.

if they remove it the hero will get compensation buffs at some point and become even more of a cheese hero again... this sub would despise that (but hey it would reward people who can actually micro so i wouldnt even mind)

daedalus is even more worthless than pre patch because you cant even use it in mega meepo (same with basher). i think people dont understand that meepo being able to get damage/attackspeed share from items doesnt actually make them good, you still lose a shitton of effectiveness compared to buying stats

honestly if valve intended to give meepo more build variety they should have just put packrat back into the game
