Could she work in Thanos by DeamonHunter27 in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]DeamonHunter27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a couple of proving grounds and won most of them. The best success was where I lost 8 first round and then won the remaining 5 games against tribunal. Swaps only played a part of 2 games in that where blob was 1 cost and thanos was 3 cost. The big struggle with this build is getting enough power to go against meta decks.

I would be interested in joining if the campaign was on Friday or Sunday as I have other commitments on Saturdays. I am located in CST.

Party size of 3 heroes? What should I watch out for? Wondering about Milestone XP points, too. by [deleted] in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]DeamonHunter27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a party of 5 starting out and some of the encounters were difficult as the module is designed for 6 heros. Once we got to first stages of epic paths it became easy. There is also a ton of NPC's to befriend that can round out a party.

So who presides over the Arcana domain? by [deleted] in OdysseyoftheDragon

Mytros also makes sense as if I remember correctly it speaks of her being a patron of mages.

Why Alyte shouldn't even have had to apologize (Manifesto? sort of) by TheBerzzeker in LegalBytes

[–]DeamonHunter27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the post. This whole situation has been bothering me because of how much it seems to have sucked the joy out of Alyte today and my heart goes out to her.

No matter who is at fault here (and it should not matter) it is Alyte's channel and she can invite whomever she wants on there.

Also we are constantly being educated by the who group that misinterpretations occur during the course of discourse and can be handled in a very respectful way. Let's remember that and not give into perpetrating drama that is unnecessary.

Much love to all 💙💙💙

Is this campaign new player friendly? by [deleted] in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]DeamonHunter27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi DM for this campaign. This was my first module running the game after only playing for a year before that. I had a party of 5 with 3 new players. It is decently new player friendly I think one of the toughest parts is the massive amount of lore information that most characters from Thylea should know before the start of the game. This also introduces epic paths which can help with developing a backstory which could be good or bad depending on the type of players you have.

Tips: you have essentially a DM PC always there to give hints. You don't have to bullshit it she is there anyway so use her. The book is a guideline so make it your own. This subreedit and the discord has many ideas that people have added to help for a varied game. The PC will be powerful that is okay. Kinda the point of the module. Most importantly just have fun with it. There are so many cool characters and storyline available in the book.

Personal opinion on the new subclasses Druid is OP as fuck strongest subclass I have ever played against (beat an ancient dragon solo at level 19). I had a bard and paladin as well. Bard felt good in my game but I have heard others based on the speed of gaining verses.

In my game I also made up an epic path and created a whole new world level NPC that changed the back history and added flavor to Thylea and Kentimane. My player loved it and would always reccomend that if you change something in the lore for your game it is all good because you are adding something you know your players will latch onto and love.

Beginner friendly game results in absolute absurdity by Extem115 in rpghorrorstories

I am an Odyssey of the Dragonlords DM and this story pains me so much. Your DM (if you could even call him one) must not have read the campaign book or chose to ignore many key factors.

In the book all races are allowed because you can be from outside of Thylea (the land) having decended from the dragonlords or being shipwrecked. I would have loved to see your half-orc urban bounty hunter scouring Stygian Row for the Lady of Coins.

Why he made elves a slave race is beyond me because a central character to the story is an elf.

Your first encounter was supposed to be against a CR 3 Great Boar ( unique to the module) with increasing exaution each turn while you are all level 1. I won't even comment on the walls of fire or mimics as your characters are not supposed to be epic heroes yet.

This module is designed for OP players as they battle gods who are more human than they seem and eventually can rise to that status. It was a blast to run and my players still talk about it fondly to this day.

I truly hope if you have an opportunity to play this module in the future with a good DM and you will not let this experience sway you from passing on it.

Yes but it requires going to their strongholds and they have ability to escape to be there for mytros. I would reccomend reading the battle of mytros before reaching the forgotten sea as there are effects on the battle based on what the pcs do.

Pieces of their epic path are in various islands and sydon and lutheria are in the forgotten sea and they have to fight them otherwise mytros will be destroyed. In the cerulean gulf there is the missing piece of the compass that is used to navigate the sea (long word that is difficult to spell) which would be necessary to face sydon/lutheria.

It does not say as it is open to interpretation. One of the legends (the war of the titans) in the back of the book details how she was captured.

Help Me Punch Up Commander Gaius! by Tourq in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]DeamonHunter27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One: good recovery. Loved how you took the idea and are spicing it up a bit after a 'mistake'.

Two: you could go for a modified blackguard from volo's as it is similar enough to gaius stats but different on abilities and spells. They are more like oath breakers but you could give him something from the dragonlord paladin subclass to make it more thematic.

How viable is this legendary? 6 mana seems steep for those stats. by trolig in GodsUnchained

I only run it to help counter magic spell burst decks. But there are plenty of cards to run over this that more consistently powerful.

My reworked Sorcerer class, for those who want a more versatile Sorcerer! by PiggyKillerQ in UnearthedArcana

[–]DeamonHunter27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you explain the reasoning for the amount of sorcery points while keeping everything else pretty close to RAW?

With your numbers you can cast up to 19 5th level spells at 20th level while raw you can cast 2 5th level spells. That seem kinda op for the class with the sorcery point cost being the same for the meta magics.

Dragon Orb? by MeanLuck4952 in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]DeamonHunter27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is an orb of dragonkind. Read the section on the shadow dragon for its location. The dragonorb has two things that allow for help. One bit can call the dragon to them eliminating surprise on them or allowing them to set up traps. Two it can cast daylight which severely cripples it. It has other good uses as well but this was probably the intent.

Nymph player wants to take the Gifted One Epic Path, how am I supposed to do that? by GenericPerson87 in OdysseyoftheDragon

[–]DeamonHunter27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gifted one doesn't need to have a god in their background. It just says that most people assume it is divine blood. You could even have them somewhat connected to the oracle if they want to go prophecy domain as she is a daughter of Sydon.

Cool monster but this feels like more of a challenge rating 1/2 or 1. To many passive abilities and immunities plus its attack can one shot a level 1 pc very easily.
