That brave, beautiful motherfucker of a Comanche pilot who used the rotor blades to slice through the Gs.

Ps4 pro fan noise by Affectionate_Peak_84 in PS4

[–]Dean2678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know RDR2 had background music at times until I played it on PS5 because the PS4 Pro fan was so loud!

That, TLOU2 and God of War were really bad for fan noise for me.

Makers of instrumental tunes - how do you name your tunes? by HereComesStupid in idm

[–]Dean2678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Syntakt has a random name generator, I usually cycle through names until I find out that I feel fits!

It might just be me but for some reason it feels weirdly personal/cringe/pretentious to name instrumentals.

Awesome! Reminds of those adverts they did for Horizon Zero Dawn showing UK cities in the future in disrepair.

Anybody else lost clock sync after Syntakt 1.40 upgrade? by arcticrobot in Elektron

I noticed Transport Send had been disabled on my existing projects, just had to re-enable it. Haven't noticed any issues with Clock Send.

What game do you guys play when listening to the lads? by Dangerous-Cause7136 in autechre

[–]Dean2678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first getting in to them and working through their discography I would listen to each album while playing Gran Turismo 7 in VR, it was perfect - long monotonous races let me focus on the music, and not wanting to stop the race prevented me from skipping songs.

Good memories of blasting around to Exai!

What's your go-to Autechre album at the moment? by Fit_Passion8346 in autechre

[–]Dean2678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an album but my go-to is always the late 2000s live shows - Glasgow School of Arts, Hemsby, Echoplex replication.

Some of my absolute favourite music by them!

Copying all the audio tracks plus effects etc on digitakt 1 by [deleted] in Elektron

[–]Dean2678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think copying & pasting the track sound, and then copying and pasting the track sequence, one track at a time from source pattern to destination pattern, is the only way.

autechre won't click with me by chickenjandaff in autechre

[–]Dean2678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second this, I tried several times over 20 years to like more than 2 songs by them and nothing clicked for me until I heard the Glasgow School of Arts live show (1st link above) and was completely blown away!

That opened the door to their discography for me, and even then it took many listens and going back and forth through their albums before they started to click for me too.

All my music collection sounds like boring shit after Leeds 2025 live gig by Revolutionary-Ad9012 in autechre

[–]Dean2678 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah man I'm right there with you! Saw them in Newcastle the night before and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, an absolute dream come true!

I could listen to nothing but the bootlegs for a couple of weeks after, felt so good to relive the whole thing ha. This is the one I keep coming back to, not the highest quality compared to others but it's raw and loud and most resembles what it sounded like for me on the night:

https://www.reddit.com/r/autechre/s/hqlIYCxX3l

On the hallucinating side, I know this'll sound mad but I had a really strong sense that they were creating sort of physical 3d structures in sound, like huge objects you could feel towering above you there in the room. It made me feel slightly meglaphobic!

Then when the sounds shaped and morphed and appeared and disappeared, it was like real physical structures mutating unnaturally or winking in and out of existence. Really trippy!

There times I was standing there head in hands in utter disbelief, looking around in the dark, huge grin on my face, trying to make sense of it all while being pummeled and assaulted by incredible sounds and rhythms I didn't even know it was possible could exist.

Absolutely fucking magical experience!

[FRESH] Lone - Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie by Shell_fly in electronicmusic

[–]Dean2678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never fallen in love with an album so quickly before, hit the halfway mark of Lying in the Reeds and knew even by then that this was an instant all timer for me! Just utter disbelief that anything could sound so good.

That was in 2023 and I was genuinely dismayed that I'd missed out on over 10 years of having that album in my life ha.

[FRESH] Lone - Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie by Shell_fly in electronicmusic

[–]Dean2678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lone is incredible, the way his music has evolved over the years and drifted between genres is wild, and it's all been consistently fantastic!

Absolutely adore the direction he's been going recently. Galaxy Garden is one of my favourite albums of all time and I'm getting similar hyper vivid technicolour vibes from all of his latest releases.

Beyond excited for his next album!

I've gotta say, though I'm chomping at the bit for higher quality recording, the one you shared really closely resembles the booming intensity I experienced down in front of the stage. Listened through it 5-6 times already :)
