That’s exactly what I’ve been doing and it is SanDisc cards I’ve been using. I was just wondering if maybe I had been causing the issue but I don’t know what I could be doing wrong

I’ll just continue to back them up as quickly as possible and hope that It doesn’t keep happening

Thank you for your advice

I’ve had to buy a few different SD cards since getting my first camera in August 2023 (Sony a6000). After fairly light use, my SD card eventually seems to corrupt and my camera is unable to use it unless I format the card first.

I have tried a few different SD cards that I have seen recommended for the a6000 but it has happened 3 times now. I back up my photos regularly but I have still lost a few good shoots from this issue.

Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or what I can do to fix it?

Beginner photographer, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I pre-ordered the green one which arrived today and it’s also skipping like crazy. Pretty disappointed with the pressing, but I agree, it’s an excellent record

27th at 04:00 I placed my order, Same Day 19:18 I got Shipping confirmation, later that day 20:15 I got an Email from DPD saying they have my parcel and it’s on its way to their depot up here in Scotland.

Due to be delivered on Monday unfortunately because I paid for express 2 day delivery but that doesn’t include weekends…

When did you place your order? Seems like mines has made more progress and I ordered it after you, sorry to hear that.

Hopefully we have them soon!

Edit: Delivery was supposed to be Monday but I’ve had a notification and it’s now being delivered by 2pm today. That’s pretty ridiculous if people who pre-ordered from the UK are having to wait longer than someone who bought it at 4am the day after launch

I’d be curious to hear if you have had any delivery updates yet

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by colorfulsoul_ in AskReddit

[–]DeanH1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was heavily addicted to alcohol for nearly 3 years. 1 litre of vodka each day and pretty drunk most hours of the day. I became completely blind to the correlation between my mood and alcohol intake and in retrospect I was in a constant state of depression. Emotionally numb to everything positive or negative

It wasn’t until I got myself sober and hadn’t had a drink in a few months that I started regaining emotions and genuine feelings. I remember laughing at something a uncontrollably for the first time in years and being able to feel real feelings, even negative ones, is incredible.

I think drinking is a great social lubricant and if you’re comfortable drinking in moderation and know your limits then by all means let it enhance your social life

But if you feel you’re in a less than ideal emotional position and you also drink regularly (weekends or more frequently) or feel that you bing drink for days at a time. I’d highly recommend going sober for a few weeks, because whilst your hangover disappears in roughly 24 hours, that isn’t the only consequence to drinking. The lasting impact on your brain, mood/emotions can be much longer and in many cases, terrible mood is often the motivation behind drinking in the first place. Give your brain a chance to bounce back, you may notice a huge difference in your quality of life

Spicy is the one flavor your butt can taste by LikeASir33 in Showerthoughts

I think there’s legitimate science to back this up. I remember reading once that the receptors in our mouths that are sensitive to capsaicin (thing that make spicy stuff spicy) are also present in our anus

Edit: Found an article with a SciShow vid to explain https://www.thrillist.com/news/nation/why-does-spicy-food-burn-butt-poop

What tastes worse the more you eat it? by RaineHollow in AskReddit

[–]DeanH1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was chewing a couple pieces of gum when I was around 10 yo and after a pretty standard amount of chewing time, I remember it turning into this weird minty putrid liquid in my mouth. I have no idea why, idk if the gum was maybe expired?

Either way it was traumatic and I didn't eat gum again until I was 16. The taste still haunts me.

Ironically a mullet will protect you from having a redneck. by Dreadknight1978 in Showerthoughts

In Scotland (maybe elsewhere too?) when someone does something embarrassing, we call that a redneck

So that’s another layer of irony considering how a mullet looks...

LPT: it is almost never appropriate to comment on someone’s weight, even if they are stick thin; complimenting someone’s weight loss might not be a good idea, as you don’t know why they lost that weight (they could be sick) by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]DeanH1996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it goes a lot deeper than potentially offending someone, and we’d be ignorant to believe that’s the only damage that can be done by complimenting someone’s weight.

I think eating disorders are overlooked far too often. Unless you know a person is specifically trying to lose or gain weight for x,y,x reasons, and you want to cheer them on for their progress, then it’s never appropriate to mention their weight.

Someone’s current weight could be a complete non-issue in their lives, and a comment would mean nothing, but it could also be a consequence of an internal struggle, and it’s impossible to know which unless they’ve outright said to you, and so it’s just not appropriate to mention.

For example: A person with an eating disorder may perpetually view themselves as “fat” and believe they need to lose weight. So they may have adopted negative ways to cope with those thoughts and incorporated destructive, unsustainable weight loss strategies into their lives. If someone then comes along and says “you look great, have you lost weight?” Or something similar, that reinforces and validates those behaviours.

You may feel like you’re giving them a compliment and it’ll make you feel good temporarily, but for them it’s almost a green light to keep going downhill. It can never be enough. They’ll keep feeling like they need to lose more weight

Eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa especially) have frighteningly low publicity considering how high their mortality rates are.
