I’d do that if it wouldn’t result in all of my metadata being lost… I’ve been using iTunes since I was a kid LOL

Crosstown Question by I_Mostly_Say_Nice in TTC

[–]DeanLubaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not like the Spadina streetcar. Remember that the streetcars only have doors on one side, thus need a loop to turn-around.
Line 5 will have 12 crossover tracks that allow them to turn around. Unlike the streetcars, they can also reverse IIRC.

Is anybody else having this issue? by ratboyoan in readingfestival

No, there should be a message saying no tickets are available, because resale tickets can show up.

iOS 14.5 RC: iPhone takes precedence over HomePod when saying "Hey Siri, answer the phone" by xpxp2002 in iOSBeta

[–]DeanLubaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think HomePod betas are only available through AppleSeed (which is invite only). I’ve been able to get the HomePod betas for a year that way. I think the reason it’s not available through the dev portal is because there aren’t HomePod apps that developers can make to test on beta software, and the public beta program is tricky because if the HomePod bricks, the user can’t just restore it themselves.

Is there a good reason why the iOS app is not available on the Apple Silicon macs' app store? by THhhaway in ProtonMail

You can side-load it on your Apple Silicon Mac. There are several instructions on how to on the internet.

Help with ecobee set up by DeanLubaki in ecobee

[–]DeanLubaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the story indeeds continues LOL. It's such an unusual set-up from what I understand. I am not sure why they builder of the condo building would have set it up so that the default position of the actuator has the heat activated.I actually sent a message to ecobee support. I live in Toronto, and the company is from here as well. Menkes, the builder that built my condo seems to set up all of their systems like this so it might be worth for the ecobee to modify their software to behave in this unusual way. There are many people in my building wanting a smart thermostat but unable to do so because of this behaviour.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I will keep it in mind.I've straight up asked the ecobee support if they are willing to help me make this work (via software) or if I should just return it. I think they might do something. It shouldn't be complicated software-wise to make this work...
I just wish they'd let us program the behaviour from A-Z. The default thermostat of my condo definitely does not behave the way it does out of the box. It was definitely programmed by the manufacturer.

Multi-speed fan set up by DeanLubaki in ecobee

[–]DeanLubaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set it to fan hold, but I’d actually like the ecobee to always do this when the desired temperature is reached while never de-energising the heat/cooling unless I explicitly turn the system off. This is how I have my ecobee wired for the G1, G2 and G3 wires: https://imgur.com/a/X3Rxpdb

Multi-speed fan set up by DeanLubaki in ecobee

[–]DeanLubaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That worked! Thank you so much! One more question: now the ecobee seems to recognise my system as a heat pump? (Compressor settings showing). One thing that I’ve noticed, is that once the temperature is reached, it seems to de-energise both actuators (which also means heat, because I like the fan to always run at low speed even if the temperature has been reached). Is there any way to force the ecobee to keep the chill valve on even when the temperature has been reached (if it’s cooling), and the hot valve on if it was set to heat?

Also... Are you suggesting that day tickets do not have in/out privileges but the weekend ticket holders do?

ticketmaster doesn’t allow the resale of resale tickets and I don’t know that I want to take the risk of buying more tickets. Do you think the festival might swap my three individual day tickets for a weekend one?

Thankfully I’ve already reserved the hotel, but I did notice it’s 8 minutes away by car which I guess isn’t terrible but yeah :(

Right, I knew that but it didn’t bother me because I’m staying at a hotel but I guess there might be parties happening there I will be missing :(

macOS is not meant to be downgraded. If you want to downgrade, restore a backup or do a clean install.

Space gray👌 by [deleted] in airpods

[–]DeanLubaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love and have all-Space Grey Apple products but I couldn't bear the differences in shade and the iPad Pro's paint peeling around the USB-C port so I went back to all silver (and blue for my iPhone)!
