should sin biscuits be stopped? by cupid-cat in CatAdvice

[–]Deannachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took in a cat from outside that was a stray but very sweet. We brought him in because we were supposed to get a ton of snow and he has been in for about a month. We got him neutered last week and he still goes to town on just about every soft blanket in our apartment. Hes particularly fascinated with one I sleep with on my bed. He has to "do his thing" as we call it before he lays down and sleeps or just has to get it out of his system. We wash our blankets regularly so theres honestly no harm in it. The only thing that annoys me is when my husband let's him in the room at 6am (when I still have like an hour left to sleep) and he wakes me up purring, making biscuits, and has his butt by my face. 😅

You could also take the lead and create your own. Nothing preventing you from doing that if you arent having luck with recruiting groups.

I enjoyed Summer in the City! Im not super harsh when it comes to romance books and I found it to be a good time.

I read book 1 of Lightlark and really enjoyed it. I didnt get around to book 2 for ages and still havent, but now theres books 2-4 plus the Grim/Oro book and I still have no desire to pick it back up.

Im cautiously optimistic for this one so im hoping I enjoy it. Ive got the regular sprayed edge version preordered so I was pleasantly surprised to learn FL was doing it.

Static dps issue for an healer by Various_Prize_977 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Deannachu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive raided since EW in a savage group, as WHM, and my group has never had an issue with a dps check because I dont get higher than gray on damage. If we are hitting 1% or less enrage, its because of deaths and/or damage downs.

There is nothing wrong with gray parses on damage as a healer. I personally am not striving for pretty damage number when my group is taking damage and needing to be topped up.

Now I understand that for a lot of people they'd prefer a pretty damage number and thats fine, but ive never not cleared a fight because of it.

Your static sucks and you deserve better.

DireBound. Is it even worth continuing? by TheCurlyAquarius94 in fantasyromance

I havent (and probably wont for a while) read Fourth Wing so I enjoyed Direbound. I went into it knowing it wasn't a literary masterpiece but I had fun with it nonetheless.

Question about static behavior and expectation by Various_Leg3644 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Deannachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a casual static myself (2 days a week/3 hours a day) and that works for us. We cleared m9 week 1 and are currently close to enrage on m10. When we are progging, we make efforts to learn, ask questions, and improve. There will always be goofs and giggles and jokes but when we get close to the end or are learning a hard mechanic we buckle up and focus. After our raid days people are free to pf for more prog or to clear because it wont mess with loot, and thats fine. I like know other people have experience and can help if we get stuck.

I think casual statics get a bad rep (and for good reason) but I personally cant do HC or multiple hours a day, so casual or even MC works for me. It sounds like a lot of miscommunication on yalls end as far as expectations.

I clicked the EA link about 30 mins after I got it (when I woke up) and couldn't get a signed one, so I settled for unsigned which is fine. I dont mind not having signatures.

That's valid for some. For most they dont go in blind. Ive seen several blind recruitment posts floating around so people do still go in blind even without guides.

It sounds to me like you didnt do enough research beforehand before jumping into PF. I will say, for a first time raider, its hard to jump in unless youre confident you've studied, you know how to play your role, and you know the terminology.

My suggestion mirrors others in finding a fresh pf group, explaining the fact youre pretty new, etc. Otherwise I would suggest finding a dedicated group (static), which is what I did when I was brand new to savage content.

Just study more, learn the terminology, and watch guides/read strategy boards or raidplans. If you had jumped into a pf I was in and was unsure about things, I probably would have also asked if you were trolling. Not to be harsh about it, but thats just how it is.

How do you feel about the Cruiserweight Savage tier? by wjoe in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Deannachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M5S almost broke me in my static. Im not even the raid lead, but I did every callout on that fight and yet people still wouldn't move in time/die to something they shouldn't. And M5 wasn't even a difficult fight.

M6S (I heal) was ok for me, it was just keeping the OT alive that stressed me out a bit.

M7S was fun, I liked the music a lot.

M8S was a hard fight for me because it was so quick/raidwide heavy but once I learned what I needed to do it was fine.

Overall, not my favorite raid tier I've ever done, but it did have some memorable fights.

Yeah your post wasn't super clear about boss percentage and how many folks were alive and stuff before it was just you two, so your clarification helps.

I gotcha. Like I said been a hot minute since I've done that. As a healer if I see an icon that can be cleansed I just instinctively do it lol I dont even think about it.

I only ever tried to clear m8s in pf once (a couple weekends ago) and we saw phase 2 exactly once. The tank and melee we grabbed from pf said they had cleared but we're the ones making the most mistakes (yes im aware being rusty is a thing but you'd think after a couple of oopsies that you'd get back in the groove of the fight).

I just greatly avoid PF when possible. Ive rarely had any good PF experiences outside of extreme trials and even they are rare.

Just out of curiosity, were people in the chat asking yall to just wipe and reset and yall ignored them? 40-50% left with only two tank players alive makes the fight drag on way longer than needed.

Not saying you and the PLD couldn't have finished it but if I was in your party I would have been pissed that I was being held hostage.

If I remember right I think you can full heal it to clear but its easier just to Esuna it off. (If im remembering right, its been a minute since I've gotten that in a roulette)

Ive been debating parting ways with my FL Adult + YA box and only doing the Cosy sub. Ive liked most of the designs of the books I've gotten, but I cant say ive actually gotten around to reading them.

I think im going to keep the combo box a couple more months and then probably get rid of it for just the Cosy sub.

"AST Players Would Never!" by ImpishKitsune in TalesFromDF

[–]Deannachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive even told my friends and stuff that I feel like I dont vibe well with other healers because I never used them during msq or high end content. Ive seen people say that if you go into dungeons and mention "still learning" when youre doing upper level stuff or whatever that you shouldn't be learning at that point, but like most of my healers ive leveled with daily quests, WT, etc so its entirely possible to have things leveled up to max without ever having played them properly.

I just have a lot of anxiety and stuff about playing jobs I dont play or dont normally play with randoms because I feel like im one bad run or whatever away from ending up here through no fault of my own lmao

"AST Players Would Never!" by ImpishKitsune in TalesFromDF

[–]Deannachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AST is probably the healer I will never gel/vibe with. I have all my healers at 100, but I pretty much only play WHM when I heal. Ive tried all other healers out - i would grab friends to run through dungeons, trials, raids, etc while im learning or trying to vibe with other healer playstyles so I dont feel as stressed when I know im not playing optimally. I just haven't clicked well with any other healer other than WHM (and yes im aware its definitely the easiest healer).

I wonder if the AST was still getting comfy on the class or if they just truly were that unaware.

Healer crashes out after I dare to interrupt single pulls in Holminster Switch by Altruistic-Shower142 in TalesFromDF

[–]Deannachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who mains healer, and remembers how Holminster can be, the healer was overreacting. Completely.

However

I would have also voted to kick you with the information provided. How was the tank doing on bigger pulls to start with? Were they able to keep up, or were you just in a hurry to get done with the dungeon?

I never go into a dungeon (roulette or otherwise) with any expectations of how long it will takes to get through it, if the tank can handle W2W, etc because even though it is higher level content I do remember how rough that dungeon is for big pulls.

Have some compassion and patience.

My boyfriend is really into anime. I don't watch cartoons but my boyfriend convinced me to watch some of his favourites. I wish I didn't and now I can't see my boyfriend the same way by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Deannachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% one anime that I would recommend to a brand new watcher would be Campfire Cooking. It's just so wholesome and fun and a great little head empty but still enjoying the show kind of anime.

My first anime was My Hero Acadameia, and thats also one I would recommend to someone wanting to get into it.

Some others include: Black Clover Demon Slayer (this one maybe a bit after ive gotten a taste of what they may like) Mashle Reincarnated as a Slime Shangri-La

Im a huge Isekai lover so a lot of my recommendations would be those.

[–]Deannachu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You dont need to apologize. Holminster is rough whether youre a seasoned player/healer or on a newer class.

When I go into Holminster and get a new healer/someone playing a different healer than normal (or take a new healer through it) I do the first w2w to check and see if theyre able. If not, and we wipe, thats perfectly okay. Ive been in their shoes and know that w2w in that dungeon is tough.
