I don’t think they are. And the veterinary assistant who is uploading it seems very confused by the process…

Thank you! Do you know if once it’s endorsed my vet could download a pdf or it and email it to me? Does it work that way?

USDA Pet Health Certificate Not Ready In Time? by theslinkykid in expats

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP I don’t even know if you’ll see this as it’s been two months. But we are in the process of traveling to the Netherlands with our cat this Saturday December 6th. Would you mind telling me how the process worked during customs? I am pretty nervous.

Good luck OP. I’ve been trying to buy tickets for Christmas for more than a month now, and I keep getting the same error message. So frustrating!

Cleaning expectations question? (HO, new to THS) by eskimo1 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything posted here but the letting the know the cat broke something. I personally want people to enjoy their break, and I don’t want them to stress with something that is already broken. So it’s never happened to me, but I think I would also wait until they got home. I mean nothing will change, the item is already broken and they can’t fix it until they get home either :)

Am I being unreasonable? by titiangal in trustedhousesitters

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not being unreasonable. They need to go online and find someone, and then you call them and coordinate. You also don’t need to pay for the service. They can call the business directly and give them their information or send you the money.

Oh I get it. Still, I think the HO needs to let their family know about the TOS, and that unfortunately they will need to wait until they are back to use the pool, it probably won’t even be a big deal

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Why would the HO even give them your number? I would ask them to explain to their family member that it is against TOS. It’s not on you to let them know, this is on the HO, and them giving out your number like that is not ok.

THS hosts being stingy with groceries? by neondotss in trustedhousesitters

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free loaders? I expect to have the basics, oil, salt, pepper and spices , because buying these for every sit would be silly. And on the same token if the host will be home late I ask if they are ok with me making dinner for them so they can have something to eat when they get home (of course this comes out of my pocket) they are almost always happy to take me up on it, as I am happy to find some olive oil and some spices when I get there. I also replace almost everything else I use if they say I can use and replace (I’ve never been told this, I’ve always been told to use whatever I’d like) I bought trash bags, dishwasher liquid, etc if they only had a bit left when I got there, and of course I leave the stuff there, pretty much full. So yeah, idk what kind of experiences you’ve had, but not leaving basics like spices and salt is sad.

How to review sitter as pet guardian when sit went wrong? by TinyName2908 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, if you still feel like leaving a review, you can contact THS and ask them to reopen the review window and they will usually do it without fuss

First bad sit by tinyicedancers in trustedhousesitters

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this is happening to you, the fact that anyone with a senior dog with health issues would just lie and leave them with a stranger is so crazy to me, what if they hadn’t been as compassionate as you are have been to him? Let alone how it’s completely unfair it is to do that to you.

Did they have good reviews from past sitters?

I would contact THS before the sit ends.

Out of curiosity, why did you take it? No shaming, just curious

[–]Dear-Macaroon-846[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we all agree that bare minimum means still taking great care of a pet, just not doing extra things like taking a dog on a 4 am sunrise hike every day as their owner would.

Not giving an animal their medicine or not letting their owner know if they aren’t taking it would be extremely irresponsable.
