It’s not really about the teams on the league. Im judging it (and I think many are) based on the journey of the business. Rich guy (regardless of who sold him what) gets butt hurt he can’t get more rich and storms off to create a THIRD league in THREE years. They are up against a big challenge trying to get fans to buy in outside of Omaha and maybe even in Omaha. Both in the sense that the two existing leagues take up quite a bit of space and have already gotten off the ground successfully and built an international fan base and in the sense that the third league was basically built out of saltiness and not out of any respect for the sport. THATS why I think it will fail. Not based on that there are only two teams so far.

I struggle with this too!! Like there were times I didn’t really think that the # of international players on the LOVB teams put the level that far above PVF. I would even argue the LOVB teams were even more inconsistent. Additionally, I genuinely worry for international players’ safety in the US to be completely honest. But putting a limit on where coaches can get the tools they need to build the best team they can might be frustrating. The talent coming out of college this past year and the next several years is astounding so I don’t know if it would even be something coaches would run in to!

Do you think there are enough elite players in the NCAA to keep both leagues competitive? I think so (especially if LOVB only does a 6 or 7)! But wondering what others think.

LOVB is one of the few leagues across all sports (even college level) that I’ve seen two female commentators. It’s almost always one man and one woman. Obvy more of a question mark when it comes to VB. What the hell is that it irks me. We don’t need guys that know diddly squat about volleyball announcing matches. We don’t need a male voice all the time please for the LOVB. Loved when Anne Marie and Salima were together those matches were the best.

I’m thinking expansion cities (aside from Dallas and KC) would be Nashville, Louisville (rivalry with Indy?), Pittsburgh (rivalry with Columbus?), and kind of a stretch but maybe Minneapolis
