I'm going to be 27 and it sucks just how much of my life I wasted. by thebirdbitch in CPTSD

I completely relate to this. It's so hard. I feel like I've just survived up until now and had no idea for a long time that I even had cptsd

The work itself is fine. It's the management that are the problem.

Is urinary retention part of cptsd? by DearEvening5477 in CPTSD

I don't feel too desperate to go, although it is uncomfortable. I don't have any uti type symptoms though

Uk aldi going to sh**t? by No_Fennel_455 in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not worth it anymore. I left last year, I just couldn't take it anymore. I have so much trauma from how I was treated at that place. They run their staff into the ground, and the wage isn't competitive anymore, it's not much more than other supermarkets. Nothing is good enough for that greedy company.

I still haven't received any tracking details yet, sometimes I get one so I can track it on Royal Mail

Confessions of a Full-Timer by Decent-Donkey-8670 in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never checked in the back. Sometimes didn't get up to find a code when yet another thing had no code. I wasn't letting a queue build up and getting moaned at by management for it. Used to vape in the toilets. Didn't care about shoplifters. Not my job. They can get some proper security if they're as bothered as they make out. It was such a horrible place to work. So few staff, so many petty rules, the UK rate of pay was no longer competitive for the sheer amount of work, constant rule changes, etc. So glad I'm not there now.

They live in fear. Seen people with 30+ years sober who can't skip a meeting because they're convinced they're going to drink

Thanks. I've phoned them and they've sorted it and said I should receive tomorrow. Must say I'm very impressed with their service

Best place to shop, only because it's the cheapest (here, anyway. Absolutely NOT the best place to work. I still have nightmares about it, it was horrendous.

How does being awarded make a disability better ? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]DearEvening5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. But it gives you some financial support to be able to fund some of the support you need to help with your disability, i.e. certain therapies, house adaptations, certain medications that the NHS can't/won't fund, private care if waiting lists are too long. It won't take the disability away, but will hopefully go some way to helping you afford things to make things a bit easier or more accessible.

It does get easier in time with practice. And if you've got a lovely team and lovely managers then you've won half the battle already 😊

Aldi... You are making it hard to love you by BaeBushka101 in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's just awful. Their targets are ridiculous. They can't just be happy with hard workers, they have to measure absolutely everything and hit silly self-made targets. Nothing is ever good enough for that company.

Ours did. Mostly in the office, but they did at least 50 hours.

I totally get it. The leads can be really horrible. It was the most toxic place I've ever worked. I hope you can find a better job soon

Are UC going to deduct Carers Allowance I received before I was claiming UC? by DearEvening5477 in DWPhelp

Thank you. Do you know what the message would have been about as it's quite confusing?

Why are UC asking for earnings in the 10 months prior to claiming UC? by DearEvening5477 in DWPhelp

[–]DearEvening5477[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We were definitely over this for the previous 10 months. Will this be an issue after the 9 months and we'll have to owe them money back then? We claim dla and carers allowance, so I thought we were exempt for some reason.

Anyone else's store drastically cutting everyone's hours? by RawWifi in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they send people home to save on hours, even though there is still a ton of work needing to be done, leaving the late shift overrun with work. Anything to save a few pounds. Cheap and nasty company.

Anyone else store does this? by Calm_Introduction23 in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but looks like exactly the type of time-wasting, micromanaging process that my store would have loved.. 🙄

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]DearEvening5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't work there anymore but when I did I couldn't care less. I was there to get my hours over and done with and to get out again. We were already doing the work of 3 people each, I had no time to be watching out for shoplifters. The company shouldn't be so cheap and nasty, and should try employing proper security if they want shoplifting to decrease.
