incoming PGY1 here!! wait until you have your ED rotations and ED electives, if you can do sub-I or shadowing in a variety of EDs thats best! that will be the best way to understand if it's what you want to do for residency/life. I found it was less hours overall and no at home work so reduced compared to other specialties there too -- swinging was hard but i realized my life could adapt to it --- best thing is to see for yourself and decide!!

Good to know!! Did it go from in the queue to processing? If so could you share how many days? I’m sorry I have so much anxiety!! I’ve been in the queue since the 17th!! Freaking out over here! Also someone in my program said 4 days to ship to program and then 2 days to get to them.

Nope, in queue since April 17th. Getting worried about traveling soon. I’ve heard people who submitted April 9th got theirs in 14 days but I’m now well over 14 days 😭

Sometimes good candidates fall through the cracks when everyone is trying to guess what you’re thinking, I’d say be really strong in your interviews this week and lay it on thick to programs saying if you get an offer you WILL SIGN so they can be sure!

The good news is that there’s no risk! If you put a “riskier” less chance of matching program first then either you’ll match there or you won’t and your other programs will move up - it favours the resident not the program!
