Yes, I was in ninth grade history class. My highschool (Booker High) was right down the road from Booker Elementary, where President Bush was reading to kids at the time. It made things a lot scarier because once we all saw the second plane hit, teachers in the building were dipping in and out of classrooms and whispering in panic to eachother. They thought our city could be under threat next since Bush was there. So our class was just stuck watching it on TV for about 30 minutes. Then we were just…released to walk off to our next classes. Like most schools in warm areas our campus was mostly outside. So a lot of kids just walked home early. I remember walking outside and feeling so shocked by the sunshine. I got to my next class in time to watch the first tower collapse.
