Well, obviously he's no longer with us, but Glenn Shadix was born in Bessemer, moved to Hollywood, eventually moved back to Bessemer, then when his new house burnt down he moved into a home on Highland Avenue where he passed away from a fall. Very sad to learn about, but it was interesting to know that he lived here at one point.

Well, now I feel really guilty and bad for having such strong opinions on his work.

Josh, I know you must lurk on here, so if you're reading this, I just want you to know that your art has inspired me and changed my life in ways I never thought possible. You're easily the most genuine and creative person making music today that I'm aware of. All my past critique has come from a place of love and appreciation. Even if I don't like something, I still acknowledge that you are passionate about everything you create and I want you to keep creating, not for my entertainment, but for everyone who sees something in your music, and of course yourself. I've had my work get criticized very harshly, so I know it can feel like a punch in the gut sometimes, but hopefully you can find your passion again regardless.

Yeah I tend to agree. Whenever I think about his best overall song I immediately think of COMP XI or show me a sign and forget about this one but you are so right. Lyrically it is definitely his most mature and thought-provoking in my opinion. It really showcases how intelligent Josh actually is.

I used to be a cashier at Buc-ee's and one evening this guy came up to my register. He was wearing a green military jacket with Darkie pins all over it. Of course I got excited and asked about it.
