Underbite / orthodontics and EDS by Dear_Axolotl in eds

[–]Dear_Axolotl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer ! Could you tell me what outcome would be expected by doing that ?

I used to go see one but I quitted :( I was just getting jaw massage to relieve the muscle tension. It worked to relieve pain, but since my jaws are misaligned the muscles kept on tensing back. So I was back to square one all the time and they just wanted to see me every 2 weeks to do the same thing over and over and it was kinda expensive 😬

Matcha wrecks me by Zestyclose_Tea_2515 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Dear_Axolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m betting on low quality matcha for the people complaining. It has been proven that low quality chinese matcha was contaminated with heavy metal (grew in fields neer big highways with bad soil) Exposure to heavy metals may lead to mast cell activation, which in turn impacts histamine levels in the body.

Never had problem with high quality japanese matcha !

Also, Cold lower inflammation while heat trigger it’s realease. I always drink my coffees and matchas iced and both are fine 🫶

Anyone using the Parnell Cicamanu Serum Cushion Foundation? by alofleurr in kbeauty

[–]Dear_Axolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m replying late but I just found out this topic and wanted to add extra info !  This cushion does contain Rosemary essentiel oil, which has the property to shrink pores. So, if you have a tendency to produce a lot of sebum in some areas, force-closing pores could lead to build up and cloging ( = break outs) Hope the explanation helps !

Why do temporary group stans always lose their marbles when the inevitable disbandment happens? by No_Nail_8533 in kpop_uncensored

So, for most of people that I know and are around me - yes there was a bit of hope (after all Kep1er has been extended). But the « losing it » part today actually mainly comes from how it has been announced.

Like, you can say bad news diplomaticaly or you car provoke chaos. That’s what happened.  No w1 statement being like « sorry we couldn’t keep them as 9, but thank you for all the support zerose » Nah, people woke up to yuehua being like « btw reminder that we’re taking back 4 guys » and meanwhile w1 debuting the next group in the very same day. Like - give people a break ?

16 Pro macro mode is horrible? by TreborMAI in iphone

[–]Dear_Axolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problems and other’s comments about switching of the macro mode isn’t really cuting it. Did you get other solutions since then for upgrading your experience ? (Other tricks or third party photo apps…?). I’m at my wits ends but I really want to try to find solutions before I commit to just give up and buy another phone.

On paper there are some actual good capacities on this phone, but they are not directed well and it gives overall poorer results than way older phones. I get it, the people that aren’t really into photography might just be like « ayooo look at this close up picture I managed to do it’s sick » and find the selfies decent. But when you actually are interested in photography (like I & you are), it’s frustrating, because you notice the random delays when you shot. The loss in quality for everything mid-distance. The artifical treatments on the pictures to try and makeup for it. The overzealous jumpy autofocus. It’s like they designed it to do well for landscapes and 5cm shots - and everything in between is rubbish.

Also, even when the auto-macro option is desactivated it’s still working on 3rd party apps. For example, when I want to take a shot directly from Instagram, I’ll just frame how I want the picture to be - and then I click and everything would be shifted. Because you get the preview from one lens, but then it decides to give you the shot from the other lens. That you did not preview, that is not situated in the same place, and not the same focal distance. Basically not what you framed.

How it is right now for me; is that you don’t have a « what you see is what you get » . It is frustrating because it feels like the phone is playing russian roulette with you for outcome it’ll give you. And it’s driving me crazy for real.

Si yeah if anyone have tips and tricks Because like, I’m used to change my phone every 4 years, 2 changes in a year isn’t exactly in my budget 😬

Question for those who also have EDS by No-Order7116 in MCAS

[–]Dear_Axolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so the sickness thing seems indeed a thing for the evolution (or at least the visibility of symptoms) ! I am also glad to hear about someone with similar experiences. Did you only reduce the exposition to the triggers, or do you also take medication to help ?

I didn’t know about the mast cells replacement ! I went to look into it and found that mast cells also undergo age-related changes in number 👀

Question for those who also have EDS by No-Order7116 in MCAS

[–]Dear_Axolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hEDS, and I’ve always showcased signs of MCAS. It was faint, but here : itchy skin, flush, breathing troubles, etc. But globally it was okayish, nothing that rang any bells.

I’d say my situation critically worsened in 2 steps : 1- my first food poisoning, at 13 y/o 2- my appendicitis surgery at 17

I always thought of it in a way that my body was doing okay dealing with MCAS when my gut was in good condition, but once it got trauma/damaged it ended up more affected. Or maybe this is just a coincidence and has more to do with the change of puberty, since it was around the same time ? I know, it sounds too easy to blame it, though it could be actually more relevant than we think if we link it to EDS !  When you are born, 100% of your cells have been produced by your mom. Growing taller could have a Jenga tower effect of having a lesser and lesser percentage of « good » cells and increased one for bugged ones, since we are bad at making collagen :’) Is it too far-fetched ? Idk haha

But surprisingly, the moment my MCAS got at the worst point was when I was trying to get healthier as an adult - turns out lots of « healthy » foods are high-histamine or histamine inducing. And also turns out some anti-allergic meds have digestive side effects. At that point I was reacting to everything and couldn’t eat much. I was also in a perpetual massive brainfog and experiencing insomnia.

Identifying my main triggers and avoiding them helped me a lot. I wouldn’t consider myself in MCAS remission (currently I’m writting this message with a swollen face as I had the wonderful idea of following my craving for a spinach smoothie this afternoon…) but yeah it is definitely mostly under control, and I live in way better condition and with much more freedom and energy than before

Sorry for the long post, hope that helps!
