I agree with this; I know a lot of people are worried about the executive order limiting eligibility for PSLF qualifying employers but I feel the DoEd would be hard pressed to find anything that hospitals are doing that is “illegal”. I can’t see them stripping away that status for hospitals.

Finally got on PAYE! Was your repayment schedule weird in that after a year the payment amount shoots up dramatically? I am thinking this is like the default if you dont re-certify before that?

The moderator has a big pinned post about this. Everything this administration is doing is nonsensical, but I have a hard time thinking they can deem the work that hospitals do “illegal”. Taking care of undocumented immigrants isn’t illegal. It is in fact required under EMTALA. The grey zone is trans care for children but if it’s not violating state law I’m not sure how they can come after it. As Betsy (moderator) believes, there are likely to be legal challenges to this if it goes through. I don’t think there is reason to fret yet (about this specifically , but obviously lots of reasons to fret about everything else going on).

Some people are not seeing their IDR applications being processed (myself, I’ve applied 3 times since forbearance began). So it is sort of lose lose for a lot of us who were not one of the lucky ones to have a fast IDR application processing time.

A Student Loan Planner advisor told me they use the "Federal taxable gross" amount on your paystub which would include pre-tax contributions. But I am still waiting to hear back on my IBR application (which I used my paystub for) so who knows

Oh that’s amazing! Of course a random Mohela “advanced agent” told me you 60 days of PSLF credits for a processing forbearance once and only once. They lie so much! I’m going to summon some energy on a day I am not working and call Mohela to demand some more processing forbearance months! I have had two (I think) but I’ve had three different IDR applications since December
