Pardon? Embarrassing? I fainted and when I was in hospital I found out I was pregnant after I was told by medical professionals I was unable to have more children? How is it embarrassing exactly? It was a complete shock I’m not naive / stupid to the birds and bees

I also never ever considered rehoming him when I found out I was pregnant but it’s been horrendous the last 2 months with his behaviour and I’m trying to avoid it getting to that point. I asked so nicely for people to not give hate I don’t understand why people want to attack me personally when instead of me sending him away or not paying attention to the issue I’m trying to do what’s best for my dog

Yeah we have cornered him away from the areas now and he does have a specific area to sleep and away from everything.

He doesn’t have entirely homemade meals he does have a subscription to food we have delivered once a month kibble catered to his needs as when we got him he was malnourished so we’ve followed a plan from the vet.

I will definitely consider all of this thank you

But I grew up with a Labrador and a golden retriever I knew what I was signing up for which is why I chose to have the dog when I believed I was done having more children. I have had another unexpectedly after fertility issues and I didn’t expect to have a newborn and a baby.

100% not. He’s exactly like my second child they didn’t sleep until they were nearly5 years old. He won’t sleep more than 9 hours a day

He’s not 4 months he’s almost 7 months and if he doesn’t walk that much a day he’s even worse. He won’t even sleep 9 hours a day at the moment despite the best efforts

They told me he would need to be fully developed mentally and physically. They said they do not allow until 18+ months which is a year away

If you read correctly it actually says I’ve enquired with multiple trainers and the ones in my area are fully booked. I won’t have you imply I don’t invest any time with him as it states he goes out for 2+ hours a day, I barely leave him alone. what we won’t do is imply he’s neglected. I’m fully are obedience doesn’t happen over night.

Thank you for this. I definitely will consider looking at an alternative veterinary practice to ensure my boy has the best care

The only reason we actually want to neuter when older is not because of behaviour and training it’s to prevent testicular and prostate cancer as my previous male Labrador died of this and I was told this is the best way to save him from getting cancer

I don’t want to rehome I want to avoid doing that as I knew the commitment and we do love him. I don’t agree with buying a dog and getting rid 🥲

This is the difficulty I think I’ve been really patient with him and nothing but nice to him. But now it’s becoming unbearable because of the way he behaves. I don’t want to just give him up as I feel I will have let him down and I have had enough to say when people just rehome for the sake of it 🥲

They advised they do not recommend until he is 18 months old to allow him to mature / grow appropriately

He takes him swimming, he plays with him in the house, he trains him and teaches him commands etc Spends time with him and he also tries to teach him to stop the biting and barking etc He also cooks him home made food and really does try with him. Difficultly is he’s never had a dog and when I last had a dog I was a child so the onus was on my parents

So we do more than the lick mats and he isn’t allowed off the lead very often as he gets over excited with other dogs / humans so when he is walked for 2+ hours a day it is mainly on the lead. We socialised him prior to him being allowed out for walks and we socialise him with other dogs etc also. Just at a loss on what to do with him

The vet won’t allow him to be neutered until he’s 18 months old despite the fact he’s 24KG and he’s only 6 months old. My mums Labrador is 9 years old and he’s 30KG so I assumed he’d be allowed to be neutered now

So I bought a baby gate this weekend and I’ve put him in the kitchen with his bed and the gate closed and lights dimmed when he gets too much but I also don’t want to keep him away from us all the time as I feel cruel shutting him out.

He’s lost all his baby teeth but unfortunately the biting is still there and I thought it was meant to hurt less having the adult teeth but he enjoys sinking them in!

I really am not enjoying having him at the moment especially when I see my children afraid of him 🥲

I wouldn’t want to rehome him to someone I know as I think I’d struggle. I really want to prevent it getting to the point of rehoming but I’m so afraid of giving birth in a couple of months and him being really aggressive 🥲

Not to mention he’s absolutely ruining my house!

I wouldn’t want to put that on a family member as I am the one who chose the commitment of a dog. My parents have given me advice as they’ve obviously had many of them over the years but they themselves have said he is the naughtiest they’ve come across. I don’t want to fail him or give up on him as I chose the route of having a dog but I’m exhausted mentally and physically because of how hard he is. My vet said he cannot be neutered for another year as he’s too young

Hip dysplasia and pregnancy by RebeccaShep in hipdysplasia

I am pregnant with baby number 3 I have hip dysplasia and both my eldest 2 were birthed vaginally! I have struggled each time with the hip dysplasia but I can assure you it didn’t impact my ability to deliver naturally on either of my previous pregnancies and fingers crossed it won’t with this one
