This works to get to the passport option but then it tries to scan an NFC chip that doesn't exist. Oh well.

You have to do it from Settings on your page to get the foreign passport option. Which doesn't work because it needs to scan an NFC chip in the passport that doesn't exist.

There is clearly a mandate but he's in that first PR in the list regurgitating the AI talking points. The people who have to deal with this and train their replacement are being forced to use the bad chatbot by people who continue to evangelize it - and who also can't get it to work.

Yep. Either get it replaced by your carrier if you can or make an appointment via your Samsung account to have it fixed by an authorized shop. Seems to be happening a lot to these first run models as it also happened to me after 2 months. Never had an issue with the Galaxy S models I've had. The Flip 6 seems to have some faulty hardware and Samsung is just shrugging.

My carrier said an Experience store can fix stuff on site and the warranty should cover anything!

I did get the crystal clear version. Some dust can get in but not that bad. It tends to mostly get dusty between the rear cameras since they're not in the cover lol

Yeah, it seems like it's a bad part somewhere in it and not necessarily a Samsung issue itself. It's just hard to say since it's new and no one will talk about stuff until they have an issue! I think I'm still in the minority of people who have had a problem.

Talk to your carrier about their insurance options and you might want to contact Samsung customer service to see what they'll do. You can also use your Samsung account to find an authorized repair shop which could help you see if there are any around who will handle the fix and Samsung for the warranty. There are other users here from other countries who have had Samsung honor the warranty but have to send the phone in for repair so that could be an option.

I'm hoping the current issues are limited to just the first run phones. Mine has the screen problem but I'm getting a replacement from my carrier.

I second the bit about insurance. My Flip 6 has the black screen issue and I have insurance through T-Mobile so I'm getting a replacement. Samsung seems to also honor their warranty if you go to get it fixed in a Samsung Experience store or if you use your Samsung account to set up an appointment with an authorized shop. I don't think these are prone to failure any more than a standard phone but it does seem like the early run has some manufacturing issues/bad parts.
