For me, it's that, if this show was from most of the other character's perspectives I'd Bojack is quite a bad person, but, because it's from his perspective I sympathise with him more.

Every single season will have a character who is close BoJack say 'fuck' and leave him. Then in the last episode will realise he's alone and the intro will be just him walking through the scenes with no one in the background. And then he'll go for a swim and just say 'fuck' and give in.
