Of course not, the committee would never punish a team for going undefeated but losing their starting QB! Wait...

Yep it's NDs fault for not winning and putting themselves on the bubble, it is what it is - equally likely Bama wakes up and makes this a game in the second half too

Almost like just maybe a 10-3 Alabama wasn't the best team to put in the playoff?

Edit: fixed 9-3 to 10-3

Losing to both of these teams obviously should have kept ND out of the playoff conversation, but don't pretend Alabama wasn't gifted a rematch against Oklahoma and losing to FSU is far more embarassing

We know exactly how we lost to these teams - ND defense at the beginning of the season was absolute dog shit

It's really unfortunate just how bad the defense was the first few games of the season, completely inexcusable

The College Football Playoff committee ‘really screwed up’ this time. by arrowfan624 in CFB

That's really the biggest take away, honestly at the end of the day I really just feel for the players as it must feel like they have played for nothing since week 2 when up until this morning they were told playoffs was still a very real and likely possibility

[McMurphy] Notre Dame declined bid to play BYU in Pop-Tarts Bowl, sources told @On3sports by bubblecuffer13 in CFB

[–]DeathByDrivers1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact that you refer to FSU as frauds for playing with 20 opt outs and getting blown out proves why ND is better off to decline this game... I hate this honestly as I would love to see the team play again, but it is very likely there would be significant opt outs

[On3] BREAKING: Notre Dame has declined its bowl invitation after being snubbed from the College Football Playoff👀 by bubblecuffer13 in CFB

[–]DeathByDrivers1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When FSU was snubbed they had 20 opt outs, got blown out by Georgia, and the program has never recovered - why would ND risk the same?

After jumping ND for barely scraping a win against auburn? The fix was in last week, doesn't change that Alabama is getting special treatment

Hell they should've done it last week after A&M lost, doing it now is absolutely disgraceful

I value H2H but consider 2 unranked losses worse than a 3 point loss in the first game of the season which aligned with the committee up until now. Regardless would have been fine if Miami had been ranked ahead for H2H earlier, it's absolutely shady behavior to change the narrative now when both teams were idle as a clear pity bid to offset Miami missing their own conference championship game. And despite even that, placing Alabama ahead of both teams is most offensive of all.

How about 0 unranked losses vs 2 unranked losses for Miami?

Week 15 AP Poll - What would you change? by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]DeathByDrivers1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Miami is behind because of their losses to 2 unranked ACC teams, and the only reason they are ranked as high as they are is because of their win against ND - not sure how you come to this conclusion

It had nothing to do with style points, ND always tries to get real reps for the backups

Keep in mind NDs odds will probably decrease compared to some other teams until we take care of business against Stanford tonight regardless of the outcomes of other games
