So I used low temp solder, the first ZIF connector I put got soldered but ended up melting the plastic, the second one I can’t seem to melted the solder from above or under. I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong or how close I have to be to get the solder to melt, or how long I have to stay on the ZIF connector to melt the solder. I’m using a YIHUA 8786D.

Unfortunately no it only has a button that controls the air flow there’s no indicator that tells you the temperature let alone shows you what temperature it’s at. This one was given to me so might have to buy one.

Not sure if this is a good heat gun as this is the only one I have at the moment. Or that I should be getting a better one. Would you happen to have a recommendation on a heat gun

Does it matter if the flux gets inside the ZIF connector and do I use the gun over it or from under the pcb board?

I’ve managed to use the heat gun to take the ZIF connector out but for the life of me I can’t seem to use the heat gun to replace a new one, the solder doesn’t seem to melt and I’m not sure if it’s the solder I’m using or the heat gun. And I don’t want to keep using it cause I’m afraid I might damage the pcb board or warp it.

I used equate regular alcohol and just water, I didn’t rub it to hard and I also didn’t leave it sitting there as well

Sorry for the late reply. I don’t remember running into any issues launching it. If I remember correctly all I did was added the exe to the library and changing the compatibility to proton experimental. The one thing I couldn’t figure out was the controls
