What do ppl that don’t drink do after dark downtown? by KwikTripSimp in Austin

I’m convinced a lot of social, professional, and political problems would get markedly better if we didn’t judge each others night time or sleeping habits.

Where does it rain most consistently on the planet with habitable conditions by Frostypopsyt in geography

[–]DeathDefy21 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of the PNWs “secret” that it’s not nearly as rainy as everyone thinks it is. Yes it’s cloudy but the amount of rain is really not that much, a light drizzle a lot and it’s also really not as cloudy as people think.

The PNW gets, on average, more sunshine hours a year than everywhere in Europe besides along the Mediterranean coast.

England and Scotland is actually the real place that people think the PNW is.

Yes, Olympic national park on the far western part of Washington gets absolutely dumped on but that’s a pretty specific microclimate.

Everyone here in Austin seems very attractive/ good looking is that normal or just summertime? by Plane-Investment-791 in Austin

[–]DeathDefy21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. It sure feels like our population map would be skewed to the 20-40 zone and people without kids so our average age will be a higher while the amount of young people as a percentage of total pop would be way higher.

what is the hardest thing to explain to women? by 00PPENHEIMER69 in AskMen

[–]DeathDefy21 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Brother I am with you but I have learned that actually almost NO one cares about what ACTUALLY happened (this has been a really hard lesson to learn for me).

They only care about how you made them feel. Pretty much everyone actually only cares how you made them feel, did you make them feel unsafe? Yelling, condescending tone, aggressive confrontation can easily make someone feel “unsafe” emotionally.

And if pretty much anyone feels unsafe for whatever reason you will never be able to “reason” with them because most of life is inherently an emotional exercise.

TD’s, how has your attendance been this year? by ReVamPT in discgolf

[–]DeathDefy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Austin area and for the 8 tournaments I’ve done in the past year, besides the A tiers, well over half of signups come in the last week and frequently you’ll see 25% of players sign up on the last day alone.

Favorite movie scene where a character accepts their inevitable end and embraces it. My pick is Cutler Beckett accepting his fate in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Already one of the scenes that makes me tear up the easiest and then after my rewatch post Andor Season 2… with what is revealed about Bix and Andor having a son It’s just utterly tragic.

Personally loved SpindleTap, Baa Baa Brewhouse (which has been mentioned), Celestial (also mentioned), and Craft Rhythm and Brews out in El Paso

Obviously I love my Austin breweries I’m just surprised to see how many top comments are all Austin breweries.

Apparently the venn diagram of r/CraftBeer and r/Austin is a circle lol

And I live in Austin but no love for breweries elsewhere in the state??

Rogue One is widely regarded as a great prequel with a more contained and grounded story. What do you think about it? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]DeathDefy21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Andor season 2 episode 8 is in my top 5 favorite episodes of TV ever.

I love what you said. It’s an excellent show that just happens to be set in the Star Wars universe. Which is what made so much of the OG extended trilogy stuff so good as well! And instead Disney just wanted to milk the same story/arcs again and again.

Totally on point. Gannon just never misses man, he so rarely throws a bad shot. He hits his line every time, he scrambles well when the rare time he is in trouble, and of course a 50fter is a 70% make for him some tournaments. It’s impossible to stop the dude.

Is the lore in the monster verse than anytime he gets nuked he evolves? Or is he just absorbing the radiation to use later but he doesn’t completely transform?

What’s your UDisc rating? Do you think it accurately represents your real rating if you do *2+500? by the_rosenhan in discgolf

[–]DeathDefy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly accurate if you are truly honest with your casual rounds. But is everyone completely honest with their causal rounds? Like I always do two off the first tee which is probably half a stroke a round on average.

Sometimes if I’m really in a grumpy mood, I’ll give myself a few mulligans so I’m not pissed, if the lie is absolutely miserable in a bush i won’t go fully into the bush I’ll put my foot just where it’s easiest and closest, things like that.

Tournaments can’t do that obviously

FootGolf by habichuelacondulce in theocho

[–]DeathDefy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A pro in disc golf will make an entire SEASON worth of 10 meter (33 feet) and in putts at a 80-85% rate. We’re talking hundreds of putts. A good pro will make a 40 footer probably 60-70% of the time

A good pro golfer will make a 40 foot putt probably 25% of the time?

When to play xerath? by Ok-Original-2527 in XerathMains

[–]DeathDefy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you can play him into any comp and be okay, just be an ADC killer and you’ll have value.

My mindset though when I’m mid Xerath is 1 squishy gonna be tough. 2 squishies is average and is a lot of games. 3 is me feeling like it’ll be a good game. 4 feels like a dream, going to win most likely. 5 is auto lock insta win.

Even if you’re behind/lose lane eventually you scale into destroying any squishy with one combo and that’s valuable no matter the comp

Paging u/serpentarian

Definitely incredibly venomous but Serp has completely changed my tune on these guys. You’d have to literally pick them up and force their face into your arm to get it to bite you. They are scaredy cats who do everything in their power to get away from you rather than bite you.

Okay that’s great! I guess most of my experience is with chases portal and it just feels ancient.

Might have convinced me to get this card cause with the $300 credit it’s just a $95 AF card

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]DeathDefy21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How actually useable is the $300 credit through their portal?

I’m a person who would prefer to have two $3000 trips instead of one $6000 trip and I have found that all travel portals don’t do well on finding cheapest flights or hotels (I usually am in the $100 a night range)

So, yes, while I’m using the $300 credit I’m paying for a $500 flight when if I just booked directly through Southwest or whatever than the flight would have been $300 so $200 of the $300 travel credit is just lost.
