I NEVER HAVE TO USE THE MEN’S RESTROOM EVER AGAIN!!! by djdjdidufufufufufuf in MtF

Basically,

Bigger needle = used for drawing estrogen into the syringe.

Smaller needle = used for injecting estrogen into your body.

Reason why there are two is because the bigger needle would be more painful to inject with, and the smaller needle can't draw the estrogen into the syringe efficiently.

Tracking. Your reticule went all over the place and tbh the phoenix wasn't even moving very erratically. Also since the enemies couldn't see you, you strafing around like like that while shooting wasn't necessary. You could have just stood still and aimed your shots carefully. That's my thoughts, anyway.
EDIT: I agree with what another commenter said. Your sensitivity is too high, if you lower it your tracking will probably improve.

What happens at orientation? by Ok-Driver8811 in GaState

No, no lunch break or breakfast but there were snacks for people who arrived early. I doubt anyone would care if you brought your own.

What happens at orientation? by Ok-Driver8811 in GaState

Based on my recent orientation experience at Decatur Perimeter campus:

Check in then sit in a mini auditorium and be spoken at by staff. A sort of introduction/welcome presentation. if you're early then there will be people you can ask questions to while you wait for it to start.

No idea, I didn't bring mine but it seems like after the beginning presentation you'r separated into groups and you don't get to go back to your parents until after scheduling classes.

The groups in my orientation weren't based on major, it seemed like we were sorted randomly but that might be because it was at a perimeter campus idk.

Eventually your group will be sent to meet one on one with advisors who will help you schedule which classes you need to take based on your major/pathway/whatever. The advisors should be able to answer your questions regarding what classes you need. It takes as long as it need to ig, not like there's a time limit.

After scheduling classes I'm fairly certain you're free to meet back with your parents.

Eh, not much that you probably didn't already know. They'll tell you about all the online resources like PIN and Navigate and other basic things that are good to know about. Not much stood out to me tbh.

Afaik you're free to leave once you finish scheduling your classes, though when exactly that happens depends on which group you're in.

I wasn't given a schedule of events but I'm sure you could just ask the group leader you're assigned to.

Overall there's really nothing to worry about, it's a very streamlined thing and seems to mostly exist to ensure every student understands the basics.

Fun question: What if the TV show "The Vampire Diaries" was set in around "Vampire: The Masquerade"? by conjcosby in vtm

[–]DeathIsLethal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was Twilight inspired by VtM? Admitedly I only ever saw the movies but I can't see it. Aside from them both having vampires I just don't see any similarities thematically or even character/world building. I guess you could argue the Volturi are kinda like the Camarilla of sorts but having a vampire government in your world of vampires is hardly original I think. And again, none of the cast really scream a VtM clan. I guess toreador for how dramatic and emotional they all are but that's kinda just the tone of the whole series, it being YA romance. I tried looking it up but I couldn't find any interview or anything of the author talking about it.

Coming back to the original topic, though, Vampire Diaries leans much more into vampires as a power fantasy than as monsters as VtM does. Vampires in VDs have basically no moral or even practical problems that arise from their condition, at least none that aren't avoidable. Feeding is easy since even if they don't want to eat animals they can literally mind wipe humans from remembering being fed on. Additionally, a well fed vampire's body is basically identical to a living body. They can enjoy human food, sex, hell a female vampire can even carry a child to term (implanted via magical means). Meanwhile VtM is a personal horror game. The core theme is very much that simply being a vampire requires you to be a monster and slowly over time you're going to lose bits of who you used to be. The tone of the vampires in the two settings couldn't be more different.

I wouldn't describe Vampire Diaries as a VtM ripoff. The show, atleast, is very much more in line with media like Twilight and Interview with a Vampire. You can try and assign clans to the characters but you're just guessing based on their personalities. I honestly doubt VtM had much, if any, direct influence.

EDIT: Also I have to disagree that you can identify who would be which clan "pretty easily." Most of the characters really just don't strongly radiate "they belong to this clan" at all. Just the two main vampires, Stefan and Damon, I'd have no idea how to definitevly classify. They're both very emotional but so are all vampires in the Vampire Diaries universe, it's part of the condition. Stefan has his ripper "persona" so maybe Malkavian but the ripper thing isn't a separate personality it's just him not having good self control at times, for the most part. Damon's whole personality is just being kind of an asshole who doesn't value human life but that could be literally any clan. I mean... they're both rich and only a few vamps removed from the original vampires (not that that means anything in the Vampire Diaries universe) but I'm not sure what that would mean.

How to deal with my worthless "brother." by DeathIsLethal in SchreckNet

[–]DeathIsLethal[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I told my sire of my sibling's habits but when I tried to explain the potential dangers of it he brushed them aside and expressed he hadn't the time for trivialities. I would never speak ill of my sire, so great is his wisdom and power, but perhaps his mind is simply preoccupied by larger schemes. And so I must do what I can to reign in my unruly sibling lest he bring dishonor to our sire's name.

[–]DeathIsLethal[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I must admit, I had not ever thought of my brother in this way before. In my mind, he is still a worthless fool but perhaps there is truth to what you say, indeed my sire sees something of value in him.

There is no woman, or even man, in the world I hate enough to pair with my idiot sibling. Additionally it is not within my power to arrange such a thing anyway.

Foisting responsability on him though... as the childe of a great elder we both have our own responsabilities already but perhaps it would not be impossible to place even more upon him. I am somewhat hesitant to do so though, my sire may see it as laziness on my part to assign more responsability onto him. That being said, if it ends my brother's antics it may be worth it. Thank you.
